I always like to start with the worst (even though there's not much to say on that here), so here goes.
There are only two little criticisms I would make. For one, I'd say the ears are too close together. Just widen them up a bit next time. I'd also say the eyes are too big, but that could also be part of the style, so it's not major.
Now for the good (yay!).
I absolutely love the scale details on Toothless' face. That must have taken SOME time, right?
The little fire effect you put in by his tail is really awesome, too. And the shading and overall technique is very well done, especially for just being a quickie drawing.

Have you tried using colors3D? It's like a mini Paint Tool SAI, it's a tad bit limited but once you know how to use it, it's really easy to use with really good results.
You can get it as an app too.

My parents probably wont like it either, since Ill probably be on the laptop more often and exams are this year ;w; I have tried colors3d. It is a great little tool, sadly it was hard for me to get my head around it. I must try to though because it is so nice to use. :3
