urgh uhh.. still working on this.. its taking FOREVER because i can't get it to look decent. i plan on adding some textures or patterns when i'm done, and hopefully a background.. i'm going to try and get some input from some good deviantart peoplz. hopefully this will turn out halfway decent, idk

i like how the mask is shukaku and the stoic face remains but would you consider doing the same for naruto and maybe do the mask thing but with the kyuubi thnks

Hi there. This piece is looking great. Can't wait to see the final product. The face looks great, more or less perfect.
If you want some contructive crit, I think the arms and body are looking a bit 2D. To resolve that I think you need to add some darker shades to the bottom of the forarms, and slightly dark shade on the edge of the upper arms (make it the same dark shade that you used on the side of his face), and then to make the torso look more curved, have the shades get a little darker towards the edges. Hope that helped, and good luck

This is looking very good. I think when it comes to a background though, you should go with what you're willing to invest time in. I imagine some buildings behind him from sand country, or some significant location in the village, but you could easily place him in a wicked cool forest, a barren desert, or even on some cliff overlooking a landscape of clouds while Falcor and Atreyu are singing the neverending story in the distance. It's all about what inspires you XD I think however, something with a similar color palette may look nice, so it'd be nice to tint whatever background you do to a nice desaturated brown tint.
Considering his costume, I'd imagine he'd look nice placed in some sort of festival. You can make it up, but if you want inspiration, you can look into something like japanese or chinese new year. I'm really just throwing ideas out here for you since you asked for my advice. I hope I was able to jog your imagine if even slightly : X.

man gaara is like really awesome, but the way you draw him, makes him look even better!! <3

awwww thank you! i really appreciate that. umm well i just sketched it (which took forever to get right haha)and then i just used photoshop cs3, just default brushes and then some airbrushes for better blending ^_^ i'm trying to get the hang of it still

the key is that it's garra.. he's always gonna look a bit dis-proportioned, besides it really is awesome i love how you included some shadow into it. you could continue working on it, in my opinion it looks awesome and is da bomb !
