Let me tell you a story. There once was a half decent picture. Then an idiot decided to try and experiment with shading...aaaand it's gone.

So yeah. My ponified version of Axton from Borderlands 2 (get released already, dammit!). I tried sticking as close as possible to his in-game appearance, buuut...I'm no artist, so this is the end product.

And then I also decided to finally try and attempt shading for the first time...and bam. It's even worse. Oh well, that's that.

This is actually my first time ever making something pretty much completely from scrap. The pose template came from shining Armor in Canterlot Wedding, but again, tried to use the reference as little as possible and modified it slightly. Making his mane, tail, ans especially gear, was a real pain in the plot. Guess some practice never hurt anypony, huh.

My friend helped me a bit with designing the colour scheme and came up with the idea for cutie mark. If it weren't for him, you'd be looking at a brown thingamajig with Vault symbol on his flank. So go wub him.

I'll probably do some fixing as usual and upload the unshaded version some time tomorrow. For now, my bed calls me.
