counting the time he waited for Amy, he's about 1,915 which is a little more than twice the Doctor's age, which is an interesting way of making Rory a sort of weird kind of equal to the Doctor in certain areas. I never thought of his death/almost deaths as being sort of like regenerations before but that's also an interesting way of giving them some equality.
thanks!

i thought he waited 2000 years. but still yeah its interesting how wether intentionally or not, rory is somewhat balanced with the dr thougth his age and memorys one of the thinks i like a bout he new series is that they are making full use of both the companions, in the past the boyfriend was just there drifting ocasionally helping, but here rory the husband is standing up to the dr "she can always hear me" and questioning the dr, even about randon things that the women would never ask "do you have a bedroom Dr?" from him its a nurse asking if his friend gets enough rest form any of the famale companions it would run the risk of soundign like an entirely diferent question.
i dont know if they are supposed to be like regenerations i just like the idea lol

they round up when they say 2,000, the actual number of years it says on the screen is 1,894. yeah, Rory's really growing.

I had hoped that would help make him more secure about Amy, because now he's closer to the Doctor, but he has a way to go yet.

I think they might keep killing him to put more pressure on Amy, she's already upset the Doctor "dies" if we keep putting Rory in mortal peril, I think it'll get her to eventually leave...

haha, well I've been saying they'll do that since they end of season 5. It's not something I know from spoilers, it's just from observations.

I see. The companions on the new series do have a shorter life span... so to speak.

yeah, Rose only was a regular for two seasons, I just don't see Amy lasting longer than Rose...particularly if you look at the story. In season 5 we fixed her life, we married her off, brought back her parents, we gave her a happy ending...we can't make her life any BETTER which means there's only one way to go with the character: put pressure on her. But you can only have so much making Amy miserable before you have to resolve that somehow...at which point both directions have been explored and there's no where to go with the character or her relationship with the Doctor. Plus, the pregnancy is a big sign she won't be staying.
I keep telling myself this so if she does leave I'll be used to the idea and not throw a fit (I stopped watching for two and half years when Rose left...) but if I'm wrong I can be pleasantly surprised.

You're probably right. Which is a shame, because I like Amy.
