Description I've just completed this painting yesterday. Later today I'll go to the theater to set up my show and I wanted to finish this piece to include in it. My second painting with my new acrylics and I must say I'm liking them better and better! I hope to start a 16" X 20" piece of an elk, but I think I'm going to need more green and brown before I attempt that one. Anywho, enjoy!

12" X 10" Liquitex Heavy Body Acrylics on masonite. Refs, once again, many thanks to the WetCanvas RIL as well as some imagination on my part.

Oh my, this is wonderful! The 'moosy' look here is great, they have such characteristic faces I also admire your attention to details; the 'reflection' of the green grass on the male moose for example

Oooh! I love moose... and there needs to be more art of them! Anyway, very solid image, and I love the variation of textures: I can't stop staring at the yellow leaves and the background grasses, and how they have so much depth. I'm not sure what the reference photo may have looked like, but since there is so much bright color in the foreground, I'm tempted to see the yellow somewhere behind the moose again. (Especially since the moose would pop out even more.) That's a pretty trivial point, though, as this painting is magnificent. (And it's of course only a suggestion, after all. It works well as is. ) Gorgeous work!

They are quite interesting and lovely at the same time, aren't they? Thank you very much! There actually wasn't much of a reference with this one--mostly a combination of my own ideas and some combination of refs for Mrs. Moose, as well as very loose referencing of several photos for Mr. Moose. I was wondering if the yellow wasn't too bold, but it seems to be working okay. And yes, I really do appreciate the critique--it's nice to get those to know what you can improve on.

Really like this! More than just sights. You can almost smell the fragrance of fall and forest, and hear the sound of these grand animals as they walk through it. Thank you for sharing!
