Description Ah yes, one of the wolf pieces I said I'd finish relatively soon. I'll get into these little kicks once in a while where I'll draw nothing but a specific animal. Right now it's wolves. Up until I made plans for my final art project, I haven't drawn wolves in quite some time. So I figured now is the time to get better at them if I want my final project to look good, right? Anyway, hope you like it. I loooooove black wolves, so that's why this one is that color.

Photoshop, tablet, and about 6 or 7 hours? (I despise keeping track.)

The coloring and shading is very pretty and elegant, but the muzzle looks stiff. The bottom jaw is a little longer then the top, so it looks like he sorta has a bit of an over bite.

Thanks! Yes, I do believe I need to work on my muzzles. They have always been my weekpoint on wolves, so thanks for pointing that out! It's nice to have critiques because as an artist, you can't see some of the flaws other people can.

Wow, I absolutely love how you did the fur on this!!! I've been trying a few tutorial, but nothing I've done seems to work. Maybe If I keep trying something will come out as beautiful as this

Thanks so much! I absolutely loooooove making fur! Other than the eyes, I think the fur's one of the funnest parts. I've seen a few good fur tutorials somewhere before, I just don't remember where.

MMmm, your right, there is something about the eyes that I love doing too! They add a lot of dept to a picture, and when you get them right they look gorgeous!

I remember when I was little, if the eyes didn't turn out right, I'd get so upset. I knew that if the eyes didn't turn out, then my whole picture would suck.

True! The eyes really stand out in a picture, they're the first thing I notice!
Aww, I never much cared for the eyes when I was younger, it wasn't until a few years back I realized how important they were to a picture!

The fur looks to soft! The detail in the eyes is simply stunning I love how youve shown the simple beauty and intelligence of the wolf, without the 'ferocity' showing.

very nice texture on the fur, especially that big ruff around the neck. one thing though. the muzzle is pretty long and thin. gives it more of a foxy look. id recommend getting some good photos to work on getting that shape right. otherwise, wonderful!

Thanks a lot! Hmm, that's true. I guess wolves do have pretty thick muzzles. I'll definitely keep that in mind for my final art project, as I have a wolf in a similar pose. Thanks for pointing that out!

XD i go through the same thing too. i was drawing lots of horses for a long time, now i'm getting burnt out on that and i'm graduating to either wolves or dragons, lol!
