Oho-ho-ho... Bassists are soooo awesome. Beautiful background. Its like he's a 'rock god' rising from amidst the mist. EPIC.

Totally agree with you in that.

Were you in a mosh pit or something? Or did you have some time with the bassist himself (to pose for pics or something)?

oh no! i wouldn't venture into a mosh pit with cam!

i was at the front row, and i had a somewhat decent view of the bassist... there were these other photographers with all access passes who kept getting in my way... having the opportunity to do a shoot with the band would be freaking brilliant!

I took pictures of a one-man-play but because of abrupt changes to plans - I couldn't get the time to take shots of him during dress rehearsal (which is usually more convenient coz you get closer to the stage without obstructing the view)(its a theatre type performance after all).

Anyways, I had to constantly be on my toes. He was just so dynamic - his facial expression and body changing from one character to another. I was high on adrenaline man.

I can imagine that shooting bands would be like THAT times a hundred fold. All that energy and movement. I'd be surprised if I got anything. ^_^

With a Nikon d90 you would be able to capture almost anything! My olympus cam is really terrible in low light conditions, and most of my concert pics end up really grainy

I thought you already bought a dSLR?

shadows77 In reply to axcvilla [2010-04-14 06:31:18 +0000 UTC]

yea i was talking about my olympus dslr... it's pretty bad for concert pics..

you got an olympus?! I didn't even know they made dSLRs.

olympus were the first to introduce live view and the super wave cleaning function in dslrs... nikon n canon just go on and create something better

i got the olympus e620 it's a nice cam, but the pics get too grainy if u boost the iso a lot...

I'm thinking of buying a point and shoot but in the end, I might be buying a LUMIX - lighter... more 'advanced' digital camera with interchangeable lens options. Its small and lighter than a dSLR...

If only it weren't so pricey.

ah yeah...my point and shoot died off recently... i miss it a lot, because it was one camera that i could carry everywhere i went! choosing a good point and shoot is so difficult with the current competition.... i really like the tough series from olympus and that new sony cam that allows you to take panorama shots by just panning... Lumix are also making insane cams, but yea, they do come pricey!

i'm leaning towards lumix... but whenever i see the price - i'm thinking to myself, why not just get any old point and shoot. its for convenience sake.

i dunno what i want haha.
