I have always, always always wanted to do one of these!!! I’ve always felt like I didn’t have the time/talent/patience to pull it off successfully tho-since the goal it to make it look like a real screencap, with subtitles and everything.
But, after starting on THREE separate Fasnet pieces I decided to drop the rest and just give this a whirl.
While I don’t typically cell-shade, I definitely had a great time doing so. Heck, I even enjoyed doing the background which is a rarity for me.
I had a magnificently fun time with the symbolism in this piece, especially since the theme of Fasnet is to ‘chase away the monsters’. Is a nut for irony
^_^ I won’t disclose who Kel is talking to, but they’re in for a fun Fasnet surprise. Not only is Kel obviously quite less than human buuuuut its now nighttime~ Meaning they’ll get to personally chase a monster away tonight.
(Assuming they don’t break down and start shouting “OmG PUPPY” like everyone else //ish shot//)

Once again, I think you achieved a great artwork. It really looks like a screencap: you used the subtitles, the black frames and the cell-shading very well in order to achieve that effect.
I think both the phrase and his expression are mysterious, even if I get the irony of what he's saying, I also think you did a good job there. I mean, adding simbolism to an artwork is a very important feature to take into account as well.
Last but not least, the effects on the mask and the fireworks are admirable.
