Hi. I'm going to attempt to give you some constructive criticism. Hopefully useful.
I really like this piece, for many reasons, one is the use of media: pencil! Colour pencils, you cannot rub out and in hole it takes some skills to use colour pencils and the use of a dark background helps to lower the tonal value which in this piece works! Your shading is fantastic, you can feel the depth of the muscles in the dragons and the stones, and the grass is wonderful!
In my opinion, and I'm no professional, I just study art and design and that's not yet at the highest grades. My advice on this piece is, though you've done very well with the shading and you get the emotions, but to improve, everyone can always keep learning, is the source of the lightening, you probably already have thought this, don't get me wrong there's shading and lightening, I just think the source of the lightening in the sky: the moon light, isn't strong enough compared to the lightening used in the rest of the picture. There's no light flare/light shining onto these pieces, basically, I would make the moon more noticeable/stronger and maybe the lightening on the clouds.
Saying this, this is an older piece of yours and you've probably already improved.
I hope this was helpful/useful.
Well done!

Thank you!
Yes, the light is lacking. Parly that was down to the white pencil not leaving a strong enough mark. I tried using paint on another peice but it ruined the over all effect - I am looking to finish that one digitaly as soon as my tecneques are up to the job of making it look decent. It didn't look that much when I fist did it, but look back now, as you say, it is missing something.

You're welcome. (: I can give it ago on a few others if you like.
Ah yeah, white pencil doesn't seel to work, have you tried white chark/charcoal, and then hair spraying it to set it? You've done other pieces of dragons, I'd have to look at them to remember completely, but I'm sure you've improved on that area already. (:

White chalk... now there is an idea. I will bear that in mind for my next lot of colour pencil drawings. I have a load of paper my Bro has got me for my birthday due to arrive at the start of next week so I plan to start on more soon. There is just something so... refreshing, about doing art with colour pencils, possibly nostalga from childhood lol.

There's a bit you can do with chalk: add water by crushing a bit into a bowl, or add it to glue. But I guess for this media, dry is better. o0o yay for more materials! XD Did you have a nice birthday?

And still, the mom has that encouraging yet comforting look, like she's telling the baby "I'm right here, sweetie"

I'm glad that came through! That was sort of a background feeling when I was making this - babies reluctance and his mom's supportive (if perhaps slightly exasperated by this time) encouragement.

Aww ... it's cute how the baby dragon is clinging to the tree it will likely [though inadvertently] set ablaze ... which will likely cause the youngling to leap in the opposite direction and right over the cliff edge
Happy Flying baby Dragon ^^
