Some crap happened today that severely stressed me out so I started sketching, then this happened. I gave Rythian his magic back, because I miss it

I now have 2 theories as to what he hides behind that mask (physically and figuratively) 1st. The seemingly most popular, he's half enderman and has a creepy half enderman face.
2nd. He hides a scare that stretches across one cheek (but he's human) and the reason he hates endermen is cause he used to be a slave of the endermen, and they put him somewhere where he couldn't use magic and they did horrible things to him.

I'm pretty sure Rythian is pretty human so it is nice to see your second theory has that, also haven't heard many theories like that one so a plus for being creative

Oh my God. Me too! At least, I hate the ideas that he's slowly turning into or has a creepy Enderman face. Can nobody just think (besides Minemaster30) That he's just covering a giant scar or something weird behind it?

There are a few different theories on Tumblr, most of them seem to think he has a scar under the mask. I do know though that Rythian has pretty much confirmed that the character is NOT half Enderman on his own Tumblr.

My first theory explains why Rythian's enderbine sword hurts him to hold, why he wears the mask, and why teleporting feels natural to him (thinking back to season 2)
But my second explains why he wears the mask (cause, as a slave he was probably beaten and maybe has a scare on his face) and why he hates endermen so much. But I has 3rd theory...
Both theory's combined!

The problem I have with the enderman theory is that all of those reasons can be explained in other ways but there are so many people that refuse to even acknowledge those other ways and treat that theory as actual canon facts, which Rythian has stated many times they are not.
Throwing star wars into that does make that theory a bit more interesting.

1. I get that, but that's the only thing I can think of to explain the whole Enderbine hurting him thing, how do u explain it?
2. I mentioned getting my slave theory from thinking of Star Wars because in Star Wars Anakin was a slave when he was young

My other theories involving Enderbane are 1, Rythian had encountered the Dragon in the past and she cursed him while he tried to escape and Enderbane is reacting to the curse. 2, Rythian found a way to siphon the magical energy from the End and infused a bit of it into himself (mages do crap like this all the time in stories lol), not enough to physically change him or alter him in anyway aside from empowering his magic and giving him access to slightly similar abilities. 3, Enderbane reacts to magic. Rythian has said before that Zoey is powerful but her magic is different to his, whatever her lore is for her own powers could be something that Enderbane doesn't react to.

I think theory 2 makes the most sense, since Rythian is an ender mage. In episode 9 of blackrock (which came out today) spoilers if u haven't seen it yet!!!!

Better, not great, but better. Had some not great news last night and was kept in the dark for a few hours about how bad it potentially could be, so this kept me busy in that time. About the time I finished it I heard back that everythings okay, not great, but better than it could have been.

Better now. Had some not great news last night and wasn't sure how bad things were for awhile. Rythian helped keep my anxiety from driving me too crazy while waiting.
Also thanks. I really like this one too. Was kind of annoyed that I just roughed the outline instead of proper lines (didn't care as much last night obviously) but I dunno, kinda works still I guess. I really like how this actually was going to be a rough concept sketch for one of my own characters but I switched it to Rythian half way to avoid spoilers and now I kind of love it

I like the slightly ragged, rough outlines in this, to be honest. They don't always need to be smooth - whilst rough they can be interpreted as a style choice, and they do add to the slightly darker, more intense mood that this work is portraying. It blends him nicely with the dark background, too.

I know that feeling all too well.
But trying something new from time to time or being purposefully "lazy" might lead to creating something new that works. ^_^
And it also helps you not to get too set on a certain style. ^_^ It's fun to try something new, no matter how weird the end results might end up being. xD
I should do that soon, too - just for practice's sake. I've neglected drawing for a while now, due to just being busy.
