Chapter Two: Into the Past

2199 AD

It had only been about three days since the incident on top of the NOL's headquarters. Ragna the Bloodedge had done the impossible; defeating Terumi and had saved Noel Vermillion, all at the cost of his grimoire. It was also the day that he learned that Saya, his little sister, was the Imperator Librarius. Terumi had destroyed Takamagahara and now Saya had the world in her hands, but this was not the end. Ragna and the others went their separate ways, each one wanting to become stronger for the trials a head. Ragna was now heading to Ikaruga along with a very hungry cat. Her name was Tao, and she was now going to travel with "good guy". The day had quickly pass by them and it was now night. Ragna had started a fire and was cooking some meat on it. Tao's mouth began to water from the smell.

Tao: Good Guy, is the meat done now? Meow.

Ragna: For the tenth time, no Tao and stop drooling on top of the meat.

Tao: Tao can't help it, Tao is starving. Hurry up and make it cook faster Good Guy.

Ragna: Damn it Tao, I can't do….

Ragna stopped in mid sentence because he could feel a powerful essence nearby. He looked around, his sword ready. Tao sensed something too and got up, punching the air with her big fluffy paws.

Tao: Good Guy, do you feel that? It's like something really, really, really, REALLY big is near. Meow.

Ragna: Yeah, but I don't know where it….

Tao: Good Guy! Look!

Tao pointed to the sky and Ragna followed. What he saw was truly something he could not believe. This had even token him by surprise more than seeing Saya alive.

Ragna: What the hell… it can't be!?

Meanwhile at Sector Seven

All was quiet at Sector Seven. Kokonoe had locked herself in her lab, going over some research data or something. Tager was very carefully indulging himself with his hobby, making ships in bottles. To think this was how the "Red Devil" of Sector Seven spends his time. Makato, a squirrel beast-man, who acted as a spy while within the NOL, was happily chatting with her best friend, former NOL lieutenant, Noel Vermillion. Noel was still a little uneasy from the whole "being Kusanagi the god slaying sword and finding out whom she really was" and was feeling a little down. Makato hugged her friend from behind.

Makoto: Cheer up Noel, your safe and sound with us. I know things went a little crazy, but you can't give up, just like Jupei said.

Noel then remember what Mr. Jupei said, she then smiled and hugged Makoto.

Noel: Thanks Makoto, I needed that, alright, I'm going to do all that I can to stop the NOL. Also, to save Tsubaki, I promise.

Makoto then ruffled her hair and smiled.

Makoto: That's the Noel I know, so have you been thinking about him?

Noel looked at her with a confused expression.

Makoto: Don't give me that, you know….. Ragna. I heard he destroyed his own grimoire to save you. Sounds to me like he really cares about you Noel or maybe he…..

Noel's face began to turn a deep shade of crimson from where her friend was going with this.

Noel: Ma- Makoto, it's not like that! I mean, I wished we had a chance a talk before he left.

Makoto: You mean a chance to confess your love for him, right?

Noel's face was as red as Ragna's jacket. She started to wave her arms around like a crazy fan girl. Makoto could only giggle at this. Just now, a blazing alarm went off with Kokonoe's voice following in pursuit over the intercom.

Kokonoe: Tager! Makoto! Noel! Get to my lab this instant! We got one shit of a problem here!

It didn't take long for everyone to get there; Kokonoe had a grim expression from looking at her computer screen.

Tager: Kokonoe, what's the situation?

Kokonoe slammed her hands down on the computer, in pure shock and disbelief of what was happening.

Kokonoe: Well, while I was looking over the data from Ragna's fight with Terumi and Noel, the computer picked a huge reading. The signal is really powerful yet very faint, so faint that normal people can't even sense it. It's getting bigger and faster, but this looks like….. Shit! Outside, NOW!

Kokonoe raced outside, while the others followed. Outside the lab, they looked up at the sky and saw now what the computer had picked up. No one could believe it.

Kokonoe: This…. This is impossible.

Meanwhile at a Castle surrounded by roses

Sipping her tea in the middle of her garden was none other than Rachel Alucrad. Just as she was placing her now empty tea cup on the table, her butler, Valkenhayn had appeared.

Valkenhayn: Madam Rachel, did you enjoy today's tea?

Rachel: Yes, it was most superb. Now then, I must be off.

Valkenhayn: Oh, where to Madam?

Rachel: Just a stroll, don't worry so much. When I return I wish to have my tea and scone ready.

Valkenhayn: As you wish.

Rachel: Nago, Gii, let's go.

Nago and Gii: Yes Princess.

In a void of blackness and rose petals Rachel and her servants disappeared.

In the mountains outside the city

Jin Kisaragi was busily training under the apprenticeship of Jupei, one of the six legendary heroes. Jin had noticed that Jupei was not around and searched around until he found him, and saw what he was looking at in the sky. Jin's eyes widen and ran to where Jupei was.

Jin: Master Jupei, what is that?

Jupei: I have no idea, but it can't… be… no, no that can't be!?

Jin looked about and his eyes that were so cold and frozen had something else in them, it was fear. As they watched what was unfolding from above, Hakumen, another of the six heroes was watching the same scene. He had been traveling around and had stopped on a giant hill. He crossed his arm.

Hakumen: So you come back again, you never learn that there is no place for you in this world.

On a grassy road somewhere

A certain vigilante of love and justice was strolling with his ninja comrades, heading to the place they once called home. His name was Bang Shishigami. He had stopped to look at the stars when his comrades had come back from their scout mission.

Ninja A: Boss, all roads up a head look clear. No signs of traps or enemies.

Bang: I see, good job men.

Ninja B: Boss, are you sure we should be resting now, shouldn't we be trying to get to Ikaruga as quick as possible?

Bang: Yes, I understand your concern my friend, but we must learn when is the time for fighting and when is the time for a break. Come, look at the beautiful stars.
Bang closed his eyes and imagined his precious Mrs. Litchi. It was then that he was interrupted by his subordinate's cries.

Ninja A and B: Boss!

Bang opened his eyes and his mouth nearly hit the ground.

Bang: What in the name of great shishigami is that!?

All eyes were now on the sky, regardless of where they were. Darkness seemed to have engulfed everything from above, a darkness that was not normal. Then a giant blue circle appeared in the sky, followed by a cauldron. The crest of Blazblue appeared on the cauldron. It then opened and a terrible rumbling was heard. Blackness started to pour out with a pair of crimson eyes looking down upon the world. It let out a piercing roar and then more eyes started to appear and began to crawl out. The Black Beast had appeared. Just after it let out another terrifying roar, a bright golden light encircled the beast, forcing all to shield their eyes. This power was similar to the units, but it was different too. It then forced the beast back into the cauldron. The cauldron started to crack and then exploded in the sky, shooting off five spheres of light into different directions. After the little fireworks show, the sky returned to normal as if nothing happened. Ragna could not believe his eyes.

Ragna: The black beast? What the shit is going on? Damn it!

Tao: MEEEEOOOOOOWWWWW! That was scary. Meow, God Tao is sorry, Tao will never steal good guy's meat when he's not looking ever again, just don't hurt Tao. Meow.

Ragna: That was not God, and what the hell did you say about stealing my food!?

Tao: Meow, Um… let's eat good guy!

Ragna: Whatever.

Ragna sat and ate his food, knowing things would start to get crazy by the day. Then again, when have things ever been normal in this world?
