Description You are a mermaid/merman that is in love with a human. However, this is expressly forbidden by the laws of your kind, and if anyone finds out, you’ll be executed. You've never met the human before, only seen them on docks or the shores of the water...but that was enough.
However, one day, as you trail along behind a ship that the human – whose name you still don’t know – is currently, on, something happens. There’s shouting, thuds; it sounds like they’re having a battle on board the ship. And then, something is thrown into the water, the scent of blood immediately filling your nostrils.
When you get a better look at it, you see that it is your human, the one you love, and they’re injured badly, it seems, heavy trails of red coming in wisps from somewhere on their torso.
If you don’t save them, it’s clear they’ll die; humans can’t breathe underwater. But if you do, there’s a good chance you’ll die by the laws of your people.
What do you do?

(Switch; you’re the injured human.)

(I'd like a switch if you don't mind, thanks for your time.)

Jessica had loved the sea, ever since she was born. It wasn't just the sea, though, it was any form of water she was able to stand in. Whenever she was in the water, or even near it, she felt calmer, and more relaxed. In fact, she was born under Piseces, the fish! It was almost fate how much water played into her life. She grew up next to one of the Great Lakes, and after college she moved next to the ocean in hopes of starting her author career in a calm, small town like this. The fact it had been next to the ocean was completely coincidence, as well as the fact she got a good home right along the beach line.

As she lived next to the sea the pale red-head noticed something. She would sometimes feel like she was being watched from the sea. And just as she would turn around to look, all that her blue-grey eyes would manage to catch were the very faint reflection of scales under the surface of the waves. It was always very faint and brief, bt the glasses wearing girl was positive something was there, which actually helped with her writing a bit.

But the young lady only felt cold darkness as she slowly sank into the darkness of the sea. All she had done was try to ask two fighting men to quiet down while riding a boat from one of nearby islands back to the mainland. One of them had a knife, and she had been in the middle of the brawl. Now, ribbons of red seeped out of her white flowing dress, staining it a little as it billowed around her body in the water. She could see the silver moon far above, distored by the clear waves. Her long hair was floating around her and blue eyes going dim as her glasses slipped off her face and a few remaining air bubbles escaped her lips.

'This is it then.' She thought sadly. 'I'm going to die here because of an asshole with a knife who decided I was a bother. I'm never going to finish that story I'm almost done revising. I'm not going to have a family. I'm not going to be able to call mom and dad back like I promised.'

Jessica would have cried if could in the deep, inky depths. The last thing she felt before she passed out was a slight warmth and skin.

(Yayz~!)

I was a young merman of eighteen, and my eyes widened at seeing MY human in the water, obviously going to die. I had lightly tanned skin, piercing sapphire blue eyes, and an odd mixture between blue and green hair, the two colors swirling together the closer to the front the hair was until it curled and intertwined with each other at my side bang, which covered half of my face, covering half of my forehead and continuing until it covered my chin, and the bang went a little past it, curling so it would be curved along my jaw line, going outwards instead of inwards a couple inches. My tail was a nice soft silver color, but if one examined closely, the edges of my scales WERE silver...I grabbed him from around his waist, swimming to the nearest island before dragging both myself and him onto the sand, looking at his injuries. They looked bad...I started shedding some healing tears, the wounds closing up as my tears hit until there was no split flesh, but it was an angry red color, something I COULDN'T heal as I decided to go hide in case he didn't like me, or what I was

(Haha ((I actually like yaoi, so if you want to do any more RPs with it that's fine 0w0)) My character is 20, and he has shoulder-length black hair, pale skin, and green eyes. His name is Reagan.)

Reagan slowly blinked his eyes open, sitting up and groaning. He placed a hand to his forehead, feeling oddly woozy, before the event on the boat came back to him, and he looked around, eyes wide and frantic. Where..where was he?!

He started to stand, only to be stopped by an odd soreness around his stomach, and the memory of seeing the tip of a sword coming through his stomach flashed in his mind. He looked down, running a hand across it, and his face grew even more confused and surprised when there was nothing but a tender red area where he was sure he'd been stabbed.

He continued to stand up, looking around. Someone had to have taken him here, but who? He was confident he had been too far from any island to have been taken there by the current, but there was nobody there who could have brought him here.

"Is anyone there? Hello! Somebody!" He called, looking close to tears at the thought of being stranded here, alone.

(K~ Oh also, are we going to keep doing that shrunken singer RP? It's been a while...)

I was hidden behind a rock, biting my lip. He sounded so sad...I COULDN'T leave him alone like that...but I also couldn't let myself be seen...at least, not fully...slowly, I pulled myself waist-up over the rock, keeping my bottom half hidden. "Hello there...glad to see you're okay." I said, my tail shifting a bit, the very tip of the fins at the end being seen from behind the rock, but I didn't notice, too focused and fascinated with the human, but tried to pretend I wasn't

(Oh, sure...sorry, lol, I have a habit of dropping RPs if I haven't answered in a while ((cause I'm too much of a scaredy cat and I worry that people will be angry I didn't respond for so long)) Also, I'm going to switch to first person. Do you mind if I reply to it tomorrow? I'm using my phone right now, and it's harder to type.)

I look over to the source of the voice, giving a relieved smile. "Were you the one that brought me here? Thank you so much, I would have di-" I break off, staring for a moment at what looks like...the tail of some creature, sticking out from behind the rock!

However, my mind doesn't entirely process what that likely means. Instead, I assume it's something he doesn't see, and run towards him, looking alarmed. "Watch out! There's something behind you, and-waah!"

I've never been the most graceful person, and since I'm running in sand, it's to be expected that I trip over my own feet and faceplant about two feet away from him, very nearly busting my skull against the rock he's hiding behind.

(I don't mind at all~)

I jolted, whimpering, my eyes wide as I went closer to the water in an attempt to hide my tail, which was now lightly dusted with sand. "N-no! A-are you okay?! Ghh! D-don't look at me, please!" I pleaded, going from alarmed to concerned to frightened all within a matter of seconds, unsure what you'd do, but knowing what would be done to me if I was caught like this

I slowly sit up, spitting out sand and wiping it off of my face before looking up, blinking several times to get the grains out of my eyes. "Why wouldn't I look at you, I'm sure-" I break off, eyes widening at the sight of him...attached to a long, scaled tail that shines silver even though it's covered in sand. And for some reason, all I can say is, "Oh...Oh."

My eyes widen, and I hold out a hand to stop him. "W-Wait! I'm not going to...do anything..." I chuckle nervously, unsure how exactly to deal with this situation. But I most definitely don't want him to leave. "It isn't like I could, really...I'm not exactly fast." I try to make light of the situation, but I'm still shocked, eyes glancing back and forth between his face and his tail in a mixture of awe and curiosity.

Lyle swam after the human. Maybe the others didn't have to find out about this? But whether they did or not, he couldn't just let this beautiful girl drown. He didn't have to let her see him, after all. The main reason for the law was fear of discovery. If he wasn't discovered, he was safe. Right?
While he was having this inner argument, the merman swam after her, and lifted her up to the surface. Now, where was the closest island... There! He swam for it quickly, lying her on the sand. Then he bound up her wound as best as he could, hoping that it would heal.
Hiding behind some rocks a short distance off, Lyle waited and watched to be sure she woke up.

(: D My character is named Cassandra, but she goes by Cassie. She's got curly black hair that goes down to her shoulders, lightly tanned skin, and large, dark brown eyes. She's got a thin build, and she's 5'1".)

Cassie slowly sat up, letting out a small groan at the stab of pain on her stomach. She looked down and saw in surprise that the wound she'd gotten when...when..!

She looked around frantically, trying to find her parents, and her heart sank when she saw no one. But...someone had bandaged her wound, and apparently dragged her to this island...she was sure that she couldn't have made it from where she was to here without some help.

Her voice rough, she called, "H-hello? Is anyone there?"

(( I forgot to write a description of him... Sorry. Well, here it is now. Lyle is human sized, though his tail makes him a bit taller than most humans. He has sea green eyes, short sandy blonde hair, blue-green scales, and somewhat pale skin. He has a shark tooth (a real one) on a necklace around his neck. He's fairly muscular.))

Slowly, Lyle peeked out from behind the rocks, careful to keep his lower half out of sight. With luck, she'd think he was another human. From the waist up, he looked it. "Hello..." he said. "Are... Are you okay?"

Cassie shook her head slightly. "But...I was underwater when I passed out. I should have drowned..." She sounded utterly confused by this, but the idea that he wasn't human didn't occur to her. It was just too crazy to even consider as a possibility.

She began walking towards him, shrugging and smiling. "Oh, well, I suppose all that really matters is that I'm alive now. My name's Cassie, and yours?"

Lyle sighed, gathering her into his strong arms again. "I guess I can't get in any more trouble..." he said softly. "C'mon, I'll get you closer to that village." With that, the merman started to swim around the island, carrying her high enough that she was kept out of the water.

She couldn't find the energy to try and remember, the pain in her stomach and the blood loss sapping her strength. She looked up at Lyle's face, frowning, before remembering that he was a merman.
