Description this photo is dedicated to dave , saw this at the zoo and thought of you

Twycross Zoo's female snow leopard, Irma, who has just arrived from sweden to join her new mate, Suou from Japan.

Both are just 2 years old and have not been at twycross very long, and so are very shy still. I waited until closing time to try and get some good shots of them, but Suou stayed inside and Irma didn't come very close. Ah well mebbe in the future when they are used to their new home.

The zoo is hoping that the pair will breed. Snow leopard cubs! I'd be so happy!

Oooh! I always thought snow leopards were white or grey. *feels stupid* Lovely shot, though ... very sweet with the downcast eyes, hehe.

Thank you so much for the wonderful dedication, Kelly. This just totally made my day. I really love close ups like this, and this unique crop is really nice.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for that pair to have many successful litters in the future. Snow leopard cubs are the most adorable things ever.

I'm so glad you like it! Of course I would think of you when I finally got to see some snow leopards

I'm keeping my fingers crossed too, although I think it will be a while before any cubs come along. I've also found a zoo near where my boyfriend will live next year that has three adults! So I'll hopefully get down there at some point in the future

Absolutely, I love it. I was so happy that you'd think of me when you put this snow leopard photo up. What is your favourite animal/species? I'd like to return the favour sometime if I have some of that particular species.

This year has actually been one of the best years yet for successful snow leopard litters. See: [link]

agh Banham zoo is only an hour away from my parents house! I'm going to visit them at the end of august... must try to make time to go see those cubs =0

I'd say any pinniped speices (seals or sealions) are very high on my favourites list Orcas are my all time fav but there aren't too many of those in zoos!

I hope you do get a chance to visit the cubs there at Banham Zoo. Cubs of all kinds are always such a joy to watch play and interact. If you watch them long enough, you can see them learning new things.

I apologize, but I don't have any photos of seals or sealions. And unfortunately, I've already uploaded any of my decent orca photos already. Even my dolphin photos are pretty much exhausted from my collection now. But... maybe if I can get back to Marineland this summer, I will remember your dedication and try and surprise you.
