Description
He had stabbed the engineer without a second thought, just when he'd turned to his sentry to disable the sapper he'd set on it. His lunge had landed low, his butterfly knife slipping into the engineer's lower stomach, but when the engineer's eyes widened and stared straight into his own, he hadn't expected them to be so... forlorn. As the engineer staggered back, his hardhat falling off and his wrench dropping, Spy felt regret. He dropped his butterfly knife and grabbed the engineer gently around the shoulders - the engineer, feeling his life slowly ebb away, did the same to him, and when he didn't have the strength to stand up anymore, the spy slowly lowered him to the ground.
"W-why, s-spa-spah... why'd yeh stab me...", the engineer muttered, and the spy couldn't reply, drowning in those eyes that looked at him with such despair. Yet when the engineer's breaths grew shallower and his skin started to turn the greyish pale that spelled his fate clearly, the words escaped him as a sigh.
"Je suis désolé... I weel be waitink for you to return..." His own eyes were soft, tears forming as the engineer used his last energy to smile before ceasing to breathe. The spy got up, leaning against the wall, watching the sentry collapse - he could be wrong, but that smile had meant there was no need for regret...
...only for anticipation for their next meeting...

One of the Team Fortress 2 pairing renders I did - this one turned out so gloriously emotional I wanted to share it right away... I hope you all like it!

(PS: I seem to have developed a liking for the more neglected pairings... PyroXPyro crossfaction, EngineerxSpy crossfaction, and I've been doing a SniperXPyro render that's also kind of nice...)
