Description Today is the legendary dragon's birthday, and my first time doing it.
I always wanted to do this for a long time ever since I was exposed to the street fighter II anime movie featuring Fei Long who I later found out he is based on Bruce Lee. Eventually i watched the Fist of the North Star 1986 English dub for the sake of any Reference to the Little Dragon, later on the Legend Of the True Savior film and OVA series although the real reason I got exposed to it were both the gameinformer magazine featuring the info of ken rage and the shitty top ten website.
That is the start of me becoming the huge fan of not only the fighting game series and the Shonen but also the man himself.
As I continue on, I delve deeper into Kenshiro characteristic, personality and story, and his inspiration and found out how much of the he is on his own, and ironically, he is on par with Bruce Lee in some aspect. So much I labeled him as the "Japanese Anime Bruce Lee" "Bruce Lee reincarnation" "Enter The North Star". Hell he is by the Best tribute.
Fei Long is one thing due to him being the only few who acknowledges the little dragon in the fictional universe as opposed to just reference, but Kenshiro is another story
The purpose of this pic is to show how much similarity those two got and how much impact and inspiration that passed on to the other characters.
For Bruce Lee:
-Ho Chung Tao, one of many imitators during the age of the bruceploitation, he was notable for not only making few stand out films such as fist of fury part 2, Dynamo, and despite not one of his favorite, Bruce Lee The Man The Myth but he also wanting to be himself in honest way which is why he rejected the offering of the proposed three mainlead cast in the godawful Robert Clouse Game Of Death, thus he directed his own film called the Chinese Stuntman.
-Danny Chan Kwok Kwan, not much is worth mentioning aside from the fact he has a great resemblance almost 100%, until Abbas Alizada comes along years later, and is known in several films and tv show such as the shaolin soccer, legend of Bruce Lee, and my favorite 2016 film Ip Man 3. One thing for sure, he does a great portraying Lee in terms of personality and the extent of how far he can imitate his fighting even if it is sometimes questionable in the show as mentioned above.

-Erlang Shen, I stumbled upon this character during the search for any Bruce Lee animated stuff. I know the character since he was part of Chinese Folklore legend when I was young but i did not expect this.
Since it was made 1976 and is produced in China, this character stands out because not only he has a spot on battle cry voice despite being overused in EVERY way from swinging his arm to constantly taunts his foe but he also happens to be a precursor. One the "Atatatata" when he punch the snake inner gut and the other is. The ability to transformed into a dragon ad a finisher much like liu kang. He even fire his third eye on one guy!
He is obscure yet good one. This insane concept

-Chie Satonaka, best known for being a huge of kung fu movies, her idol is none than Bruce Lee. Despite being shown as a fighter who only relies on kicks, she does few lee inspired kicks and shout couple of battlecries, even the "atatatatah" in one of the moves. She also use reference and quotes, not to mention her personality, on many occasion and it works quite well. Not too weak but not too force either.

For Kenshiro
-Jotaro Kujo, this will be a predictable outcome, there are many reason as to why the comparison of Jotaro and Kenshiro are often discussed. The most obvious includes, stoic personality trait, manly friendship, battle cry and endless barrage of punches "oraoraora", and it went as far as having a eye shadow effect. Much like Jonathan, he bears resemblance to him in some extent, it makes even more in the ova when his cap for blown out of his head.
Normally he is my least favorite jojo character out of all three main characters I know so far, the first is my favorite Jonathan Joestar and the other is Joseph Joestar, but in the OVA, he is fairly likeable and is not nearly as contrived as the original manga and anime has.

-Tsurugi Momotaro, from the sadly obscure series in the shonen genre Sakigake Otokojuku, Momotaro, the upperlcassman of first year and later on as a team captain for the tournament, can be considered a kenshiro ripoff at first glance but he is more than that. He has a laid back attitude when things are normal, and sometimes during the tense moment but a stoic and determined swore on his flesh and blood to never let his fellow comrade and the entire school down, in addition of a man of honor who gives mercy and kindness to his foe even if he does not know the reason himself but showing no mercy to the scum.
Though he does use fist, he mainly uses the katana and his way of fighting is far the most interesting and stand out. He can go from standard technique such as the quick draw slash to the nigh impossible, including the Hishou Hakusenkein Ougi, and Shinken Fukonn. Hell he even uses his bandanna in some fight where he can either use it as a weapon or a thing that can remedy his dire situation.
This guy made his own legend
I wanted talk more about him, but I have to end this abrupt

-Zaku, from the oniken game. It is hard to believe that there are still some kenshiro inspired character out there in the year 2000, and Zaku is one of them. He is basically the combination of Kenshiro and Guts.

Tbh, Kenshiro is not really a great representation of Bruce Lee. The only thing Bruce Lee about him is his fighting stance and references.

Maybe not, but there is one big thing that Bruce Lee inspires in Kenshiro: his ability to utilize techniques he's seen from other fighters, which I think reflects Lee's philosophy of "Absorb what is useful; reject what is useless."

True but i did say in some aspect. I mean there is already one or two characters that represent truly in general but when it comes to the anime and manga in specific way, that xan be another.
Thanks for the honest feedback, it makes things more interesting
