Description
Related, but pro twilight. this stamp is neither anit-nor pro-twilight.

YES i TOTALLY REWORKED THIS STAMP.
if it pisses off twitards everywhere, then fine by me.

i'm so flipping sick of people defending their idiotic little point of views; here's the facts: her stories were written for teenagers, by a mormon, stay-at-home-mom, with the abilities of a pre-teen writer, using ideas off of a DREAM. if you cant see it her way, then take the highway. no i'm not a fan. i WAS until i grew up. now i see the flaws, now i see what people are so unhealthily-obssessed about.

It is exactly as it is said in the stamp. vampires are not copyrighted. stephanie meyer's rendition of them is not wrong. what is wrong is everything else wrong with the series. so shut up.

Vampires are one of those creatures with a set mythical standard that can be fooled with by their creator. Stephenie Meyer did nothing wrong with her vampires; they're just her's. its the same as an original character.

In a new book im writing myself, my vampires arent changed, or even in themselves a different species, theyre just humans with the psyche to want blood and such; thats not bad, its just a different rendition )< if people just keep using the same ideas over and over, it gets boring and people start accusing of stealing.

flamers get blocked.
Twilight and all charris associated (C) to stephenie meyer.

People are allowed to have an opinion.

Oh
My
GOD
Are you correct. I HAAAATE that! (I.E. everything you wrote just there). A bunch of my friends hate Twilight, but they havn't even read the series. At all. It's kind of like "Um hello? How can you hate something you have never read or acknowledged before???!" It really bothers me. And the thing about the whole myth of vampires is true. You can morph them. Holy crap.
Although.... Twitards scare the crap out of me. I'm a REAL FAN. I accept people who don't like it. But really people? At least read the damn books. The movies - crap. Books - great.

I going through a few stamps when I made this and found it to be very interesting. As someone who wants to be a writer someday, this stamp certainly made me stop and think about a few things. ^^ Thanks for sharing your opinion and I am ever so sorry for the drama that has blasted this poor Dev. So, for the sake of your sanity, I shall keep my opinions to myself and wish you a lovely day!

I hate it when people say Stephenie Meyer "ruined" vampires.THEY'RE MYTHICAL CREATURES!!! She's allowed to change them any way she wants. Just thought I'd put that out there

I know.... but to me, Vampires are kind of copyright. Not entirely, but some. Because the person who wrote things like Nosferatu and Dracula to me are the building blocks of vampies.
The only other thing is, I don't know why I get angry AT ALL; Vampires were always a side thing I never really liked them in the first place. which makes me wonder why I got so bent out of shape when I learned about the Cullens first off.

*nods* i get what you mean. but then again, where'd they get their ideas for their books? what came before them and the ideas they had.
X3; i've felt that before. its a strange feeling.

No I don't go after her characters because she has complete Mary Sues. I honestly COULDN'T CARE LESS about this if it wasn't for ONE thing. I would leave her be completely. But NO, it's the fact that she slaughtered, assaulted, and poisoned the mythology of vampires and werewolves BEYOND REPAIR that I so called "diss" her.

I don't mind my charcaters or my fandom's getting dissed.

The way I see it, if we can't go on our favourite sites without seeing Twilight fans, gush over how amazing they think the book is, why can't we express our own opinions to dislike it?

I don't like the book because I felt it was poorly written, lacked substance, the "vampires" sparkled and didn't die in sunlight (meaning they arent vampires), the main charcater was detestable and Edward was a possesive, abusive fuck.

Aside from that, I don't normally openly abuse the book aside from lighhearted jokes at my friends (who happen to be Twilight fans) expense, who in turn laugh back at me and make fun of me.

In my opinion it needs to die down on both sides. The fantards (not the fans, just the rabid fantards) need to seriously get a freaking life, and similarly, the hardcore anti-twitdards need to find a new trolling sport.

Haha! So true. Besides, wouldn't sparkling be better that just dissolving in sunlight? Anyway, I'm so glad you made this. I'm always SO confused when people get so pissed about her writing her OWN story, that was originally made for just herself, and it's not how Vampires are suppose to be. And then have nothing wrong with Bunnicula? Haha, nice stamp!

raspberry-wings [2010-02-09 03:36:32 +0000 UTC]

Just bringing up the fact that it's her failure to write anything resembling good literature that makes most of us sick...the fact that her characters are shit is because of that. :3

FrauMalice [2010-01-30 22:37:54 +0000 UTC]

There's a difference between "dissing" and criticism though...People don't criticise Twilight just to be mean, like you're making it seem. More often than not, they're criticising it because the characters are poorly developed...Twilight may be entertaining and you may have enjoyed it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But it's kind of mutually understood that Twilight's characters are very underdeveloped...Don't flame me, because I'm not flaming you. I'm not trying to be mean at all. I'm just offering up another side of the story, is all
Cheers

I was pissed off at the sparkle shit- she coulda put different vocabulary AT LEAST. But I don't think I want to diss it anymore, it's kinda stupid anyway.

A product of their creator's imagination? Yeah, sure. Too bad Stephanie Meyer's imagination is so warped.

Harlequinbeautie [2009-12-07 01:38:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah yeah, unique to each author...doesn't mean it was actually a good idea >__<
But being liked/hated/dissed/loathed/etc...
is part of being a writer. If she can't take it (which she can't judging by her never ending childish actions) then she shouldn't be a writer.
So yeah, vampires CAN be a product of their creator's imagination but that doesn't mean you give a werewolf bunny ears and can still call it a werewolf. Get my drift?
The way I see it Stephenie Meyer is just an annoying person who isn't all that great at her chosen profession.
I just really can't wait until the whole 'Twilight' faze is over and tweens pick something else to obsesse over. I'd like to be able to hear the word 'vampire' without 'twilight' or 'edward' following it.

honestly lol i dont really care i'd say its not the characters or the material
however i tried to read the book - it was meant for people w/ a 5th grade or so reading level ..

and i did watch the movie.. excluding the vampiric specs of super strength/speed its dead on point for point practically w/ Tuck Everlasting 2003 - alexis bidel - i have little respect for a lack of originality --

but i am envious of the mass quantities of monies being made w/ all the art and books , movies and ect

and the only real issue is the fangirls lol im just surprised at all the adult women that like it lol.

yeaa.. thats why is kinda book against skull with sooo many people soo adamently gung ho and swoony over a 107 yr/o card carrying V' thats a undead blood sucker lol
im all for redemption but ... ehh at least potter for its meritt had very complex unique characters with deptful backgrounds and rules
and was to my pov fairly original.

a) I wouldn't care.

Supplimental: I haven't read Twilight nor have I seen the film, but people's criticisms are mostly about the fixation the author has with shiny dark creatures who bear little to no resemblance to the type of creature they're supposed to come from.

This would be fine if she didn't pretend to present the exact same thing, when in fact she presents a plot-thin fanservice.

Ann Rice stories seemed interesting but I never really got into those either.

That said, why would you take offense to someone else's opinion of Twilight? If it's something you enjoy, and you have reasons for why you enjoy it that you're satisfied with - be proud of your fandom.

Yes very true.

I really hate it when people say "HARRY POTTERS BETTER, TWILIGHT'S GAY!" personally i LOVE both series. I do not see why people would compare twilight and harry potter. There two COMPLETELY different books that share nothing in common! Stephine Meyer and J.K Rowling are both FANTASTIC writers that know how to entertain people. And the reason i like SPARKLY vampires, is because it give the books ORIGINALITY. I haven't seen one book, other than Twilight, That has Sparkly Vampires.
