The title refers to the Birnam Woods in Shakespeare's Macbeth Act 4, Scene 1 - in the scene with the three witches, in which various prophecies are made including the following:
"Be lion-mettled, proud; and take no care
Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are:
Macbeth shall never vanquish'd be until
Great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill
Shall come against him."

I guess those trees are eerie looking, some of them not being rooted in the ground, depending on which way you look at them! So they are capable of moving like the Birnam Wood trees were.
