“Because, today is a special day simply sending birthday wishes, wouldn't do. So I’m sending you a day when all your dreams come true and, a year that means the most to you!”

The snow was falling lightly today as it was December. The month of white covering the city, the month of cheers and happiness, but not for one red head. A frown has settled on the young emperor’s face, Akashi.

The boy was known for his lack of expressions but today grumpiness was evident on his face. Rubbing his temples, Akashi puts down the document that he was holding. He fixes his desk and starts to walk to the gym. Being the student council president and captain of the basketball team of Rakuzan takes a toll on his body sometimes. Especially today since Winter Cup finals is just around the corner. But he can handle it since he is Akashi.

Once he took a step outside, Akashi heard rapid footsteps heading towards him.

“Aka-kun!” [f/n] exclaimed wheezily thus getting the attention of the red head. He looks at [h/c] haired girl who was panting, desperately catching her breath. His frown softens once he saw her, making some of the students feel relieved. [f/n] was a friend of Akashi. They met during their first year in Teiko and up to now they are still friends. Though some students would think that they were in a relationship, but they weren’t.

“Aka-kun what flavor do you like when it comes to cake?” [f/n] asked looking directly at his eyes, eager to know his answer. A tiny smile formed at Akashi’s face finding her eagerness adorable.

“As long as you made it I’ll like it.” Akashi petted [f/n]’s head earning a pout from her.

“Mou~ That’s a vague answer Aka-kun. And your hands are so cold.” [f/n] told him and noticed that he wasn’t wearing anything to protect him from the cold.

“Here.” She took her scarf off and wraps it on Akashi. Akashi was about to protest but was cut off.

“You need it more than I do. See?” [f/n] showed her triple layer of clothing. Her [f/c] sweater under the blazer and on top was a [color] jacket. And also the cute knitted mittens protecting her little hands.

“Anyway can you come to the classroom later?” [f/n] asked a bit fidgety.

“I apologize [f/n] but I can’t” Akashi responded with a hint of disappointment lacing his voice. He really wants to go since it was [f/n]. He couldn’t say no to the girl but today he really can’t because of his duties.

“O-oh okay… Well good luck on your practice.” [f/n] said and left Akashi with her head hung low. Her leaving form made Akashi feel guilty, but he made sure to pay you back when he’s not busy anymore.

He was about to change into his jersey but he remembers the scarf hanging unto him. He inhaled her sweet scent lingering on the scarf. He smiled a little. [f/n] was the only one that could make him smile genuinely, well that was what people say.

Akashi unwrapped the scarf and started stripping and changed to his jersey. Once he was done he left the locker room and started to command his teammates.

Practice was over and Akashi has changed back to his uniform. He walks outside the sky was already painted with orange and the snow was still falling light like a feather. The softness and purity of the snow reminded of the [h/c] girl. He remembers that the girl would always big [e/c] orbs sparkling at the sight of snow.

He looks at their classroom window and saw it open. Akashi assumed that you were still there. So he started to stride to the room hoping that you were still there.

After his walk he slides open the door and saw [f/n] resting her head on her arms. He walk nearer [f/n] and noticed how there was a blush that formed on her [s/c] cheeks, probably due to the cold. Akashi looks at the desk beside her noticing that there was a cake, strawberry shortcake to be exact. A jar filled with paper stars and a note attached to it. There were also paper cranes scattered on the desk. He reached for the note and read it.

“Happy Birthday Aka-kun! May your wishes come true!” Akashi read quietly noting that it really came from [f/n] since it was her penmanship.

You woke up from your nap and rubbed your eyes seeing Akashi in front of you. You fixed yourself a bit and look straight into his eyes.

“Happy Birthday Aka-kun!” [f/n] greeted with a warm smile on her face. This made Akashi warm inside. He forgot that it was his birthday due to his workload and probably his teammates who were busy practicing.

“Thank you [f/n]…” Akashi smiled at [f/n] which made her blush but luckily it was cold so it wasn’t noticeable that she blushed because of him.

“Ah! Aka-kun did you know that if you have 1000 paper stars you wishes will come true, like the ones in paper cranes. Though I just started with the paper cranes….” [f/n] said enthusiastically.

“And since blowing candles is a bit uhh… common here have this jar of a thousand stars.” She smiled and handed the jar to Akashi. He was awestruck at you enthusiasm. He remembered ever since they met, [f/n] would always give him presents for his birthday.

“Ne~ Aka-kun what do you wish for? Next year I’ll give you one-thousand paper cranes.” She fist pumped the air feeling determined. Akashi chuckled at her adorable actions and went near her face which surprise the girl.
“I wish that you were mine.” Akashi blurted out. [f/n] felt his warm breathe in contrast with the room’s temperature. Her ears were really red.

“I love you [f/n]. Let’s go out, that’s an order.” Akashi pressed his lips on hers, and [f/n] felt her face become hotter. Akashi pulled away and chuckled huskily amused at her reaction.

“I-I love y-you too Aka-kun.” [f/n] confessed earning a smile from the red headed emperor.

“Hmm… I guess these paper stars work.” Akashi spoke inspecting the colorful stars.

“[f/n] why are you wearing mittens today? You don’t usually wear one.” Akashi inquired, a bit suspicious why [f/n] was covering her hands today.

“A-a-ah! W-w-well it’s really cold today and r-r-really my hands are cold!” [f/n] stuttered pulling her hand away from Akashi’s grasp. Akashi didn’t buy her excuse one bit and finally pulled the mittens, showing few cuts on her [s/c] hands.

“T-there just paper cuts no need to worry.” [f/n] assured, smiling at the boy. Akashi just sighed knowing that it was from the paper stars. He took her hands and kissed it lightly.

“Thank you for your gift [f/n].” Akashi muttered to [f/n] who was flushed red.
