3rd grade in elementary Akashi Seijuro met a young girl about his age who cried over the smallest things. By small something that really didn’t involve or harm her in anyway.

Like that one time when they first met. Akashi was always alone due to his upbringing though some would tease that his red hair was weird.

In the middle of recess time Akashi could feel someone staring at him. And then cue the loud wail from a girl. Akashi looked back and saw a girl with tear stained face.

“Why are you crying?” Akashi suddenly asked looking at the girl curiously. It was the first time he encountered such person who would cry out of the blue.

“B-because Akashi-chan is lonely!”

And that was the day Akashi thought that you were really weird.

5th grade in elementary. People were clad in black attire and a certain red head with his father stared at his mother who was peacefully sleeping an eternal slumber. The area was silent until a loud sob erupted from a certain [h/c] girl.

“[F-f/n] please stop crying.” A lady tried to calm your younger self but to no avail and your sobs became louder.

“[F/n] why are you crying?” The younger Akashi asked which somehow seized your loud sobbing.

“I-it’s because Sei-chan can’t cry.” You pouted with flushed cheeks and Akashi stood there surprised at your answer. A small smile tugged on his lips and slowly hugged you.

“Thank you for crying on my behalf.” Akashi whispered as he buried his face on your shoulder. You returned the hug as small sniffles came out from you.

So when was the last time Akashi Seijuro cried?

That was a question you thought to yourself as you absentmindedly stared at the blue skies.

Maybe it was when he’s mother died... Nah, you didn’t see him shed a single tear but you knew deep inside he was crying and devastated. You sighed and pick up your bag and travelled to the gymnasium where the basketball team was practicing.

“Sei-chaaan~” You sang as you ran to the red haired captain. He stood on one spot looking indifferent while he watches his team. You were about to glomp him when a ball came speeding towards you effectively hitting your forehead and causing a red to grow on it.

“I-itai...” Akashi heard a familiar small whimper making him turn and look at you. His eyes slightly widened at the sight of you crying, little tears falling down your cheeks as you held you forehead.

“Are you okay [F/n]?” A gentle voice asked. Looking up you saw Akashi crouching down in front of you. You shook your head and let out a little whimper. Akashi glared at the orange ball beside you then towards a blond male who was silently trying to escape.

“Kotaro.” Akashi called out coldly making Hayama freeze.

“50 laps now.” Akashi ordered as he glared at the older teammate. Hayama gulped in fear and quickly started with his laps.

“It’s okay now [F/n] so stop crying and I’ll buy you ice cream later.” The read head who was menacing a while ago had a 360 degrees turn in his personality. And this was not unnoticed by his other teammates. It was clear to everyone that Akashi was especially protective of you.

After practice you waited for Akashi in one of the seats in the bleachers. Once he got of the locker room you quickly got on your feet and went near him. “Sei-chan can we walk to the convenience store? Since you did promise to buy me ice cream, right?” You happily asked him awaiting for his answer.

“You know we could go there by car.”

“B-b-buut...” You sniffled and look up Akashi with teary eyes. He felt a stab in his chest as he looked at you sad [e/c] eyes. Akashi sighed heavily and took out his phone to call his driver.

“Pick us up in the nearest convenience store,” was his short command before ending the call.

“Thank you Sei-chan~” You chirped as the both of you started walking to the place where you will get your frozen treat.

This was a common occurrence though, since when you two were in elementary. Akashi Seijuro has never been seen crying as he was told that it was a form of weakness, while [L/n] [F/n] is known for being a crybaby. But well the two somehow synced up nicely. Some might see the two of you as a lovely couple while other saw Akashi as your protective older brother.

While walking tiny droplets of water could be felt falling from the sky. The two of you look at each other, then the sky then back to the road and silently that it would be best to run to the store.

“I’m sorry... if hadn’t suggested on walking then we wouldn’t be wet.” You mumbled but loud enough for Akashi to hear. Akashi just smiled at you and went in the store. After a while he came out with a popsicle in his hand and gave it to you which you gratefully accepted.

While you ate the popsicle it became silent, making the sound of the rain more prominent. “[F/n] may I know why you are always crying?” Akashi broke the peaceful silence with a blunt question.

You just turned at him with confused eyes. “Is that really something you should be asking?” You asked him as his heterochromatic eyes just stared at you.

“It’s because Sei-chan couldn’t cry.” You smiled to yourself as you close your eyes. Once you opened them again you stood straight and parted ways with Akashi.

Winter Cup Finals came and the whole team was busy especially their captain. The two of you sat inside the library as he arranged some paperwork. You could totally notice Akashi’s stress adding up that it was the final game tomorrow, against Seirin. You knew he wasn’t nervous and he had already ensured the team’s victory.

“Sei-chan~ Sei-chan~” You chanted out of boredom as you flipped through the pages of the book that you were holding.

“[F/n] be quiet for a while.” Akashi suddenly demanded making you flinched. He quickly noticed at the sudden raise of his voice and darted towards you, who was now looking down.

“I-I’m sorry...” You stuttered and Akashi instantly knew you were crying. Well why wouldn’t he? He already knows that when a person raise his voice at you, you would instantly feel threatened and cry.

“I should be the one apologizing [F/n].” Akashi ruffled his haired and lean back on his chair. You shook your head and gave Akashi a smile.

The buzzer went off signaling the end of the match. The crowd cheer for Seirin’s victory while Rakuzan fell silent.

You quickly ran to the lockers and saw Akashi looking at the floor as he sat on the bench. The other members left already and you decided to sit beside Akashi.

You could feel the red haired teen shake beside you. You hug him from the side and snuggled his neck. Despite the towel covering his face you knew he was crying, and you couldn’t help it as tears start to form on your eyes.

Akashi suddenly heard loud sniffs coming from you, “Baka... why are you crying more than me?”

“It’s because Sei-chan won’t cry it all out!” You wailed as you tightened your hug around him. Akashi just chuckled and returned the hug.
