Without saying a word in response, Ash pulled at the lapels of his leather jacket to bring him closer before roughly pressing her mouth back over his.
Johnny smiled against her lips; eyes still at half-mast as he took her in once more as she kissed him.
Any previous trepidation or fear about whatever was to come tonight had silently drifted away; replaced with love and admiration for this girl who changed his life for the better. There would be no telling what to completely expect or if it would go right, but what was life without a little risk? If neither of them took any, they probably never would have ended up together, yet here they are almost a year later. All Johnny knew for that whatever happened tonight -- he was going to embrace it.
With that thought, his eyes slipped closed and he pulled her closer to deepen the kiss.

Just wanted to tell you...
I saw Sing a few days ago and have been obsessing over Ash, my favorite character, Johnny, my second favorite, his song I'm Still Standing, her song Set It All Free, and of course this ship...
I was looking for fanfiction to read and came across your work... you are an incredible writer. I've read almost all the stories you've written that I could find on Jash, and wow.
Your dialogue is so cute and real for the characters, your descriptions of expressions and thoughts going through the characters' minds are put in a great and readable way.
Your long lasting kissing scenes are so wonderfully written, the awkwardness, sweetness, and passion is all there.
I just want to say your writing is fantastic and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your stories β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ can't wait for more :3

About the kissing scenes--yours are so detailed and wonderful. Have any tips on writing those sorts of scenes without being cheesy? I know writers draw from their own experiences (I'm a writer too, I try to do that a lot) so maybe it would help if I actually experienced the things I was writing about lol... have any advice anyway?

Kissing scenes are difficult without making it overtly cheesy or short. I try and more describe the sensations or perhaps their inner musings about it rather than just describing the physical motions which don't change very much during a kiss. Just the brushing and pressings of lips if it's the chastest of kisses so it's hard to prolong a scene with just that. More sensual kisses, there's more interactions with their hands, the kiss deepens and intensifies so there's more to write about there -- but still not much. So, my advice is more focus on the characters; their experience with it or their feelings toward the character they're kissing -- some inner dialogue really beefs up those scenes that would only last a line or two otherwise. That's my advice anyway. Hope that helps. ^__^
Also, yes. putting yourself in the character's shoes helps tremendously! That works awesome for any situation.
