Description
The rabbit/hare is lunar and shares symbolism with the Moon. As closely connected with the Moon it represents rebirth, rejuvenation, resurrection and initiation; the "light in the darkness".
The rabbit is the trickster in Native American folklore (eastern America). Wearing the rabbit skin in rites denotes humility and docility before the Great Spirit.
Graphite pencil, ink, pastel, charcoal and acrylics on rough textured watercolor paper.
Approximately 20x30 inches

The colors and subtle texture in this are delightful! Nicely portrayed, as well. I have to wonder if you intended a new moon/full moon sort of suggestion with his eyes?

First, love the beard. It sells the 'trickster' persona nicely.
Second, he is really fat.
I like the way that the face has that negative shadow. the circle around the head makes the face look like a rough outline of a yin and yang symbol with the eyes and whatnot.
