It's been ages since i've drawn this much! and this is with working on thee fanfics at the same time!!Yeah, I was re-reading the chapter of Kamikaze Girls that came out in last month's Shojo Beat [link] and couldn't resist drawing a better Lolita-style outfit. i think it turned out....

All the same. Copying a picture from a manga and then submitting it as your own is still a form of plagiarism and ... well ... really a huge pet peeve of mine.

Copying an image from a manga as a "reference" pose is plagiarism. Since you and another artist seem to have both drew the same pose, character and clothing in the exact manner, it indicates that either you copied the image itself precisely or she has a time machine and copied yours three months in the past with magic. Either way, the existence of two, identical images, one claiming a "reference" image, really indicates to me a copy on your part, and possibly on hers as well. This a form of art theft which not only breaks DA's regulations, but the rules of the contest you have entered, as all material submitted to Shojo Beat's contest must be free from copyrights and unrelated to any other artists' work.
