Interesting fact is that the 2x2x2 and 4x4x4 cubes are actually harder then the 3x3x3 and 5x5x5. And according to someone I heard online, the 5x5x5 is actually easier then the others if you know the specific speed solve method.

The reason is that with the odd numbered cubes you always have a center piece that never changes position regardless of how it is turned. So you know already which side each color belongs to. They can be solved relatively using the same methods.

The even numbered cubes don't have that so it is a lot more difficult to determine the sides each color belongs to. So you have to learn completely different methods to solve those.

Thats how I learned about solving the rubiks cube.
