Since you seem to like my portraits, here's another one
This time I've been messing around with the different film responses in Octane. Together with some other settings you can get some nice to weird effects. Postwork was mainly limited to getting rid of some artifacts in the hair and adding a bit of glow.

Superb. Agree about the different film responses. Playing with the white balance can also give some great colours

But in the long run these settings are a lot harder to control/fine tune than the possibilities in Photoshop. I mean the latter are pretty consistent in the effect they cause, while the Octane responses, the white balance and such can react very differently depending on the lights you use and especially different HDRI's. And as much fun as a bit of experimenting can be, it tends to take a lot of time and sometimes you just want to recreate a certain look.

Yes, it can take a while. I've now learned a few good combinations and use them. But playing with the film response is part of my workflow now, along with checking for intersections

A few good combinations, where you roughly know how the outcome will be, gives you more time to spend on other things, like different lighting setups, textures, etc. I don't know what you mean by "intersections".

intersections - I meant the last minute checks that someones fingers aren't sticking into a wall or similar. Not sure if this is the correct term. But I always do check

Fingers sticking into a wall, you could always sell that as a take on the paranormal
