A cake I made for Himbeerfalter 's birthday

I'm very proud of the outcome, although I will never every make a cake like this again - too much cake dough wasted...

I planned the cake at first in Minecraft (building this scene), then re-created it in SketchUp.

Some random facts:
* Consists mainly of sponge mixture
* I had to create several baking dishes full of differently colored sponge, and then cut them (using a ruler) 2x2x2 cm cubes... This is where most of the dough was wasted
* The cake consists of 300 - 400 cubes (all handmade). In my original plans I counted 522 cubes, but I had to skip some parts, design the roof differently, etc.
* Parts of the cake (e.g. the part below the first layer of cubes, the parts under the house) are just big blocks of dough - it's much more stable that way
* The house has 4 plates of gingerbread inside for stability - the cubes themselves would not be stable enough
* All cubes are held together by apricot jam
* The pool is made from coloured jelly (I really like how that one turned out )
* The windows in this picture are whipped cream. I later replaced them with jelly, but I only have pictures from my mobile phone...
* I took me almost 2 days to finish this monster of a cake - and I had to leave some details out...
* About 30 eggs had to be layed to create this monster
