I added a even more highlights and tinkered with the hair again.

I started on this about two weeks ago and had a fairly poor quality reference picture of Czech model Paulina Porizkova, but when my uncle saw said reference, he declared it "absolutely perfect," and insisted I use it. This is dedicated to my uncle, ~Yoda-Ganny , for his never-ending support and encouragement.

The background is stock. The rest was drawn using a grid, painted and, for once, I'm rather proud of the hair!

For those who don't know, Arwen Undomiel, also called "Evenstar," is the only daughter of Elrond Peredhil, granddaughter of Galadriel, and wife of Aragorn.

Awww, thank you! Liv just did not look her best in those movies. They made her loose too much weight. She looks prettier now, but still not what I had in mind.

Well, I didn't like any of the movie elfs. Elrond looked anything but wise and kind, Legolas... well, I would rather not comment Legolas, only Galadriel was quite good.

I think with Elrond, they just gave up and said, "Who looks like he can carry a sword in battle without falling over? This guy is really big. Let's use him!" Legolas... Eh. I didn't hate him. I adored Galadriel. I will watch Cate Blanchett read the back of a cereal box.

I know! When Legolas has more chemistry with Aragorn than Arwen does, it means you terribly miscast Arwen.

This really is a wonderful painting. The girl looks very beautiful, and the work you've done on her hair adds so much feeling. I also love her rather sombre, and perhaps a little shy, expression. It always amazes me just how realistic you get those skin tones. They're perfect.

I've never seen the model, but after seeing this portrait, I must check her out.

It's the damned heat that makes me so sick. If it's cool outside and I go inside to a warm environment, I'm okay. When it's sweltering (96 degrees!) and I go inside to a proverbial meat locker (the temp is 61 inside), it's an illness waiting to happen.

Aww, you've been needing to get some sleep. If you're sleeping too much, that's your body's way of saying, "Leave me alone. I need to recover!" Thank you again! I've been trying to improve. Don't think of it as slacking, though. Think of it as a creative vacation.

Awww, that really sucks! When my muse goes on vacation for long periods of time, I play around with different styles rather than trying to force myself to do something that I can't do at the time. Like, I sometimes make random fanart collages and stuff like that. Sometimes it sparks an idea and it's like, "Hey, why didn't that come to me sooner?" Don't push too hard or you'll drive yourself crazy with hating everything you do. I've been thinking about writing a tutorial. I'll let you know if it works out and maybe it'll help.
