I really like this, but that's partly because I like this take on whers. I always imagined them as more stocky and sturdy than the dragons when it came to their body structure, being a creature that is ground bound and all. And because they are thought to be "ugly" by the Pernese, and I always imagined that it was a sort of "different/weird ugly" rather than a true "ugly." Kind of like a bulldog, or some other sort of odd looking beast that might not be as streamline and "pretty" as the others, if that makes any sense. ANYWHO!
Nice pixel work, and the post is nice, overall, well done.
