Blizzard killed mercy when they gave her a cast time ult as a regular ability and made her a spectator for 15 seconds every time she gets her not ult, ult.

So very disapointing, Blizz! they ruined a good character. But Michael chu did post on the official overwatch forums that they are going to be giving her back her original epic voice line when she activates her ult: HEROES NEVER DIE!

I'm not really sure how to feel about that though. I miss the way she used to say that line, but I've got used to her new ult voice line and actually quite like it. One good thing that came out of her rework was all the new voice lines they gave her. Besides, isn't "Heroes Never Die" more fitting for when she rezzes people? Even if it's not her ult anymore? This feels like they'd be giving her the wrong voice line for the ult she has now.

if mercy is nerfed to the ground then why she is still played in owl? and btw , to have a ult and then an ability that encourages and reward you for dying is not very healty for a game

I'm confused, her Ult never rewarded people for dying. You can't do anything when you're dead, but you can when you're alive.

Her old ult did , and her Rez ability as well , even her new ult in her first stages where Rez were instant and you got more people to Rez during the ult

in her old ult mercy could just hide from the enemy team and just rez everyone after the enemy used a lot of ults to kill your team while your team could just not use any , in this way your team have a huge ult advantage from just dying instead of investing some ults as well to win the fight + a well coordonated combo between zarya genji and lets maybe an ana ult being just canceled by a 5man mercy rez is not very fun and neither corect either cuz you can't really counter that (mercy being very fast while she shift + she was invulnerable in the rez animation)
for her rez ability (no cast time + more rezes when poping walk) you didn't cared about positioning , trying to push together cuz you had a mercy that could just fly pass enemy team , rez you and return back . if your monkey / genji / tracer kill an enemy in the backlines and dye in the process (now being an 5v5) mercy can just rez him/her back and the enemy team don't have any real way to counter that , transforming the fight into a 6v5

i played mercy a lot in season 6 when she saw broken and i can tell you that no one could really stop me from rezing someone behind the enemy team . it's a good thing that she is more balanced now + i finally can play another supports without my team to yell at me to go mercy

Mercy in Overwatch Season 6 was part of the rework crisis created by Blizzard and should never be used as a comparison with Mercy 1.0. Mercy 2.0 during Season 6 was OP and does not reflect the current state of the character. Always compare the current Mercy (2.5) and Mercy 1.0.

Making every other hero more viable and not making Mercy a mandatory pick IS healthy for the game. I can finally play Moira/Ana/Zen without being flamed for not picking Mercy.
This isn't about Mercy, this is about making the game more accessible to others who want to play anything but Mercy. She has dominated the meta for too long.
