This is the Lounge of the USS Saratoga, the ship Captain Kirk commands in my AU New Start verse.

This is the Ship's Lounge. Delphis class ships have few amenities but they do have two that they’re very proud of.
One is the arboretum (which makes sense for a science vessel with families aboard) and the other is the Lounge. On another ship this would be the Officers/VIP lounge but on Delphis class ships things are much less formal and its open to the whole crew.
It’s a recreational facility where off duty crewmen can relax in a quiet setting and also used for the rare formal diplomatic functions. It has the largest windows on the ship and many come for the view alone. The unspoken rule is you go to the Mess, the Rec rooms and the arboretum to talk and socialize. In the Lounge you admire the view, think, read, work on a PADD.
