Description A gothic lolita with a faun? What? See, this is why I need to take brain days. Looks cool though.

I also made sketch of Lady Amalthea for snapdragon . I loved her sad eyes in the Last unicorn. Drawing her reminded me of my love for the series Elfquest. Boy, when I was younger I was in a huge Elfquest/Last unicorn kick. so I drew a lot of sad looking pale skinned pretty girls and elves riding mystical creatures. Anybody else remembers Elfquest? I still love it, though i'm not really impressed by all the spin offs. My favorite character is and remains Skywise. I think him and Schmendrick are the ones who started my love the the sarcastic ones in a group.

The Elfquest books got translated to french in color, which is why i'm aware of the series despite the fact that I didn't talk English as a kid. I remember my school library had the first 10 books. One was too damaged, so my mother (who worked there) needed to throw it out. She gave it to me instead. It was my precious for years. I STILL own that destroyed book. I tried to salvage it with tape and read it delicately. Lately, I bought all the english re-prints. Man. I loved this so much. If you don't know this and you like elves/nostalgic comics, read it now.

Even before I read the artist comment I went "Oh hay! Thats Skywise in the corner! Cool!" Followed by "Good god am I old." Thank you for the brief trip back to childhood and obscure hard to find comics that I always seemed to stumble over in the weirdest places.

No problem. Skywise is a good thing to have in one's childhood. HEHEHE.

It's on the internet, on an offical site. You should just be able to search it and find it. It's sad that the only book I have was dunked in water before I was born. sigh

When I first was introduced to ElfQuest, I was in second or third grade. I loved it but mom thought it far to adult for me and banned it from the house. I had to sneak peeks at the three very tattered and well used comics a friend had on the bus to school when I wanted to see one of my childhood heros... Skywise of course. Then when I was in high school, we finally moved into a town and out of the small rural village/bush communities and I discovered my first and the the town's only comic shop, rediscovering ElfQuest and devouring it as it were. Mom was trying to make an effort to be more understanding of my tastes by then and decided to read the comics herself.... and got hooked. Between us we have every book that was put out with the exception of the written, non-comic novelizations. I've read them but never bought them. Didn't find them as intriguing as the comics and graphic novels. And mom is not a strong/patient reader though she is a brilliant accountant, so she also prefers the comics to the novels. She even has several posters.. All I have aside the books I bought is a signed set of button pins that were a gift from my brother. The trouble is now that I have moved out of the house, she refuses to break up the collection and let me have the ones I bought with my own money. I really don't mind. I visit enough I can read and barrow them when ever I like. I understand her reasoning for keeping them all together and know I will get the entire collection eventually, including the ones she bought. Just got to be patient. She seems to want to pass on the DVD and VHS collections she has first, before she touches the various book and comic book collections. I have nearly the entire original Disney VHS collection because of that. Good thing I got young cousins to pass a lot of them on too. Don't get me wrong, there are some good and awesome Disney animations and movies out there... just many are not my cup of tea.

Sorry for the rambling gianormous rant. I've had to much sugar and its to late at night.

No worries! I never had trouble like that with my own parents, avid comic readers themselves since way before I was born hahaha!

eeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! if this is the preliminary sketch, I am excited for the final result!!!

And I was mucho obsessed with this movie when I was a kid. I was (and still am) on a major fantasy kick, so anything having to do with unicorns and mermaids and fairies and such got me so excited you have no idea!!

You know what would be hilarious/super awesome? A stage version of the last unicorn.
