Hugh Jackman as Tom Creo from the movie "The Fountain"
I wanted to draw this picture for a long time, and now I finally did it because of general indecisive-ness and lack of inspiration concerning some other stuff I started.
I kinda like the result, although my colored pencil skills are still pretty shitty compared to my pencil portraits I think.
Maybe also because my scanner screwed up the colors like it always does.
colored pencils on green cardboard
some white-out for highlights
~15 hours maybe
.....and it's still a mystery why Dr. Cox hates him.......... (

On that note, this is just astounding for a colored pencil and white out piece. It plays out much like a painting

Thank you! I always spend lots of time adjusting contrast, brightness etc. after scanning to make it as close to the original as possible... glad to hear that it helps

I'd suggest to, before starting to color the actual image, try out the colors on some extra paper, to get a better feeling of the right pressure for the shading etc., and especially the mixing of the colors. Play around a bit until you get the effects that you want
