Description

Working on a line-up of my own character concepts, based off female characters from the classic monster movies, called "Brides Unleashed", and it all starts with this lady, I call her "The Penitent". I was trying to think of anything I hadn't seen done with vampires, and came to the idea of a 'born-again' vampiress who fought vamps and demons in Christian garb and with a cross-axe, but to do so, would have to fight blindfolded and willingly bare the pain of wielding a cross. Narratively, I conceived her as one of Dracula's former brides, imagining that after Dracula's death, the brides regained their "soul", a'la Buffy, and she switched to the literal side of the angels. Originally she was going to be designed as more Celtic, but as I was working I added Renaissance and Medieval elements to her garb to give her a more timeless feel. Still a work in progress, the base on this is gonna be nuts.
