akjsdhfalksjdfhaslkjdfh Guys i cant tell you how dang excited i am that i got to collab with one of my harpg idols and dear friend for this image! I did the very dodgy sketch, and then handed it over for abosz007 to work his magic on the lines and flats, and then i stole it back for shading and BG final touches. I am so so so in love with the lines and how all the characters turned out and asasldkfjhasdf i will even forgive him for having them most beautiful/complicated location as it all looks so dang regal! <3

The Winter Ball

Cavan had been to a few fancy dinners and dances during his lifetime, and with his tails pressed and quickly checked for holes, he was reasonably confident that he would look decent enough to represent his Stable and Country among all the notable guests. In reality he would have much preferred to spend his evening relaxing in the guest apartments or enjoying the amazing food he could smell in the kitchens, but he had promised his sister that he would attend and would even dance at least once.

That last concession was a rather big deal as he had not really danced anything serious since boarding school as a young man, and even then he had never really seen the point or paid attention. Ryan and Neaghe had forced him to practice a little before he left but he was still rather awkward and very nervous, so choosing a partner to dance was the biggest task before he could relax and enjoy talking to people and sharing his food with the most charming and noble dog in the room. So far too many people were paired off already, or were far too intimidating for him to cut in. Boris would be his preferred dancing companion, but for some reason he didn't think that would be welcomed at such a grand event, and his sister would definitely chew him a new one if she ever heard out about it.

He had narrowed it down to a couple of the more approachable looking ladies when he caught sight of the lovely young woman that he had met during the Obertaurer Conference. Nora had been very helpful towards him during that event, but Cavan's best memories were of how friendly and fun she had been to spend time with. He hadn't seen much of her during the current event, only glimpses between the mad rush of classes and training, but he had been looking forward to saying hello to her again. And perhaps even ask her for some more racing pointers, given his less than ideal placement during the Conference.

Neaghe had been very determined that he had to dance at least once, stressing that he was an owner of a very well established competition stable and breeding stud, even if he didn't like waving that fact around. He had the Studs reputation to maintain, and they needed to keep working on forging some connections with the international community if they wanted to find more affiliates and breeding partners. He had lost track of how many times she had told him it was about networking. It was far more her department, and if he was honest he thought she would much prefer to be here instead of him, but alas it was not possible given baby Siobhan's age and so it was all up to him.

Plucking up his courage for dancing in front of so many people, Cavan made his way through the crowd as the previous dance ended and gave his best friendly smile at the small group of people Nora was chatting with.

"Good evening everyone. I hate to interrupt, but i would like to ask the Lady Nora if she would join me for the next dance? That is if she doesn't mind me being very out of practice."

He shot her a wink and held out his hand, hoping to make her laugh and ease how awkward he felt about the entire idea.

Unluckily for Cavan he has asked Nora to dance right in front of Lyo, though luckily Damon was there to help restrain his more protective fatherly instincts.
Also Boris is the best thing in the world and i will always adore seeing his sweet face. Cavan also has decided that he is a fantastic dog and has been sneaking him treats. Hopefully Damon wont mind.
