Description So according to canon, Rythian loves music and used to play the ocarina, but hasn't played for years before the Blackrock story.

In my mind, after carrying Zoey to the hospital at Sick Bay, Rythian would have been so anxious about her that he would have stayed by her side (probably hardly eating or sleeping, knowing him) for days until the doctors (and Teep) kicked him out. Unable to calm down by meditating, and missing her music, he carves himself a simple ocarina and starts to play.

Very! Except I imagine rythian is at that point in the Blackrock chronicles where Zoey is still recovering, so there would be some minor chords in there to reflect his mood. ^^
But I also see that song as something Rythian would just play anytime!

It does, doesn't it?    I'm still toying with the idea of writing a fanfic for it, but I've never written one before, so don't know how well it would turn out... maybe I'll stick with drawing for now

Thanks! I was halfway through drawing it, when I realised I would have to draw Rythian with his face mask pulled down... hence the conveniently placed blowing sand

Aw come on, there is a really cool headcanon floating around that he has mouth scars, and it looks cool. Perhaps it's why he doesn't play ocarina anymore near anyone, which would require him to pull down his scarf!
