I think the stone was somewhere around $14 with 2 other pieces. Someone from a spiritual group I used to work with taught me. It took him about 30 minutes to do so. I just cut 4 pieces of wire to the same size, bend it around the stone with a bunch of the wire left over at the top, and close the top with a small piece of wire. Then you can take the wire at the top and do whatever you want with it. I usually twist it into loops. I make sure the stone is secure by twisting new small pieces of wire on the sides and bottom.

Do you need tools to bend the wire? How thick is it to support a stone?

Yes, I bend the wire around one end of a needle nose plier. This wire was 22g I think, half hard.
