Kestrels are my favorite bird. 
Do you paint by copying a picture? Or sculpt, for that matter...
Or do you take a bunch of pictures and piece them together?
If you say you always work from memory, I think my head will explode.

HAHA thanks, I would always take my own photographs where appropriate, ie, detail stuff, in flight, running, action pieces, but always bearing in mind the anatomical knowledge to make stuff up if necessary, as an idea etc, before the collation of material for the project. Always sketch from life if you can, and sculpt from life, as photos are not up to it. Hope that was of some help. Rob
