Description Peter Vogelaar (photo credit and an excellent captain) and 2 other sculptors pus myself carved hard for 10 days to finish this scene out of 50 tonnes of sand during the 2007 Calgary Stampede.

This has GOT to be one of the most AMAZING things I have ever seen!!! The attention to detail is simply outstanding! I'm in awe of how the crumbled sand on the top of the waves actually looks like foam whitecaps.

That sand is actually dried, while the rest is still wet, hence the color differences.

I love how the sand is turned into the churning sea.
