Backstory

Nikolai was apart of a prestigious snow dog team as he was the lead dog with a team of regular dogs that became his family. They lived deep on the Serbian front with their, now deceased owner, Bartkowski.
The sled team owner was once loving and kind but quickly turned vicious. Nikolai snapped during a training regimen and almost killed the owner after years of torture from shaving his fur while in -20 degree weather, broken bones and various cuts and scrapes. Nikolai was triggered by his owner killing an under preforming dog one during their "training". Nikolai left his former owner beaten and bruised but didn't have the courage to finish the job, he ran into the wilds for a while until he reached the edge of a city and tried to assimilate.

Now much more mature than he was at the time of fleeing his past, he is haunted by the bad things he has done. His past hangs over his head everyday but he tends to wash it away. He has a high sense of justice and empathy that forced him into his current line of work with the Police K9 special unit. Here he trains new recruits (puppies!!!), goes on search and rescue missions and sometimes even being called for main pursuits and robberies. Nikolai loves what he does now, but yet is still haunted by his past and isolates himself a bit when he is feeling down, but overall he is a strong member of the team and a great person to be around.
Nikolai is a confident and strong leader with a heart of gold if you look past his cold demeanor and loner tendencies he has.
Quiet as it's kept, he's a real softie. He often wishes to feel loved and cherished. Hence why he looks for love in various places.
He has a very hard outer exterior, but inside is a squishy, warm, caramel center.
