Really, with this particular portrait you achieved a great deal of expression from her eyes, not to mention the beauty her face irradiates; she reminds of someone; i would really like to see how you managed to achieve such a feat, you are really talented.

I thought the same until i realised inspiration is not something to be left to luck; you need to look for it; your art is your sword, you should be its master, not the other way around.

Hehe,yeah...I'm just not finding it I suppose then.I think of some good ideas of something to draw but then I just don't see the point,and I just don't have the skills to execute them properly,and all for what really?hours of work so that I can critique a drawing to death immediately afterwards and hate it,and then show it off to a bunch of people who would rather see Batman unstead of something new or original?That is assuming anyone even bothers to look at it.I suppose I just go through phases of frustration and I just need to suck it up and stop acting like mopey bastard,hehe.

One does not do art for others, anyone saying that is lying to you, you create for yourself, because you have no choice but to do so.
we artists don't get to choose what we want to be, our talent is like an infection, we are hardcoded to create; either we create, or we are nothing.
at the end of the day the only opinion that matters is yours, you already know that, everyone else will speak of their tastes and will judge what you do through their knowledge and impressions, but all of that is bullshit, all that feedback is nothing if you don't control what you do, if you don't control your message.
because that's what your art is, a message; we say more through images than words, we communicate ideologies, dogmas, feelings and stories.
why the fuck do you care about those who would rather see batman than something original? think of your art as words and think of them as deaf, do you want to communicate with that kind of people? speak their language, do you want to communicate with someone different? then change the message.
you get no answer? try again, and then, try again; because you have no choice, because that's what you are.

inspiration is just another word for will; if you lose your will you are nothing more than a leaf in the wind, no direction, no purpose ; and there is nothing more sad than wasted potential.
