Description I suppose this would be like a collaboration between and I...

She did the original drawing back in 1999... I was so disappointed to learn that the original drawing got wrecked by staff at a print shop.

So, when she gave me permission to colour it, I decided to increase it's resolution more than double, since I thought the higher resolution file would make her happy.

I added very detailed line art to get it back to sharp detail, and whatever I couldn't tell from the drawing I referenced images from the game. I might have invented some extra detail... and I colourized the drawing to use as one of the shading layers, so all the original pencil work is still there.

I thought it looked too plain on white bg... If she wants a copy with a plainer bg or no BG I can get that to her, I like the parchment though. I originally made it for mock D&D pages,

Took me 3 days... but I love it, and I hope she does too.

Thanks Kim for letting me do this . I can send you a higher resolution than the one I am posting.

So here I am in 18th century dress posting this and answering my messages... lol.

Lol, someone commented on the original that he looks innocent... he does XD

Thanks^^

Somebody else did the pencil drawing, but my part was the pen tool in photoshop, colouring and a lot of shading.

^^ Do you not have photoshop? I noticed a lot of stuff on your page is all Pencil.

It's not bad English... I get what your saying ^^ A lot of 'English' speaking people make a lot more mistakes for no reason... That's assuming you apologize because English is a second language to you... or third...

...So hopefully I don't confuse you. I'm sorry I don't speak every language so I can talk to everyone in their native tongue... really there no excuse for me, lol

I have photoshop but pencils is my life just the way I go. I am afraid to even use crayons because I do it how if I had two months
English is my second language, but I'm learning it

I used to use pencil to sketch, and then do black pen lines, then erase the pencil after the ink dried. After that I'd use pencil crayons to shade and colour. It looked pretty good and I have some older works like that in my gallery.

I'm sure you'd do better than that. You might need practice with colouring though. Do you use a mouse or a tablet? I'd guess a mouse if you don't do much on the computer.

You're doing well. Just promise me you'll learn most from published books and such, and not from how people speak on the internet lol.

WHOOT!
Bloody marvelous, I WISH I had the chops for digitizing, JEALOUS! I love the background. Raziel never looked so good. And smooth... (Aren't his hands freaky though? Could never get over them.)
(Guess I got lazy with my background, just leaving it white...)

I hope all the other LOK fans fav this pic! I think it's great there's still such a huge following for it!

Thanks^^

You probably do and just don't know it yet, having someone show you how in person is better than tutorials.

The clawed hands seem distinctly less fun than fleshy ones...

I think the white looked good in the drawing, of it was to dark or too busy it would have maybe been a bit distracting.

Me too^^

.

if you ever do something like this again, If I have the room in my long list of projects, I might well be very interested in colouring it for you, if you would like...

Do you have Photo shop?... You have a computer right?

Thanks again

I do have Photoshop...it's version 7 I believe, I'm at work and can't verify that (Not CSwhatever). I have tried the digital drawing thing again recently JUST ONCE, and thought 'My god, I'm sure I was faster with just pencils, wasn't I?'
Honestly, it took four days for a simple greyscale comic! I would go into work crying, and ask a coworker what to do next! (She said - learn layers).
Grumble.
She was right.

Lol, I usually sketch by hand and then scan it in, I seem to be faster that way XD

Layers made me nervous at first... but they are essential really.

I also hate the pen tool at first, the line vectoring thing was just confusing, but once you get the hang of it it makes amazing line art ^^

This is very good- the coloring you used is very detailed- at first I thought it as a photo xD.
I love how you did his skin and wings they looks so realistic you were always so amazing at coloring and enhancing picture.

I got to where I am with years of practice... and forcing myself to learn to love the line vectoring tool in photo shop.

Your welcome~ You did an amazing job. I can see why you were so excited about it.

Yes perfect practice makes perfect! And that is good it's good to give ourselves a little push.

ScereyahaDreamweaver In reply to KusaFai [2011-07-04 05:05:25 +0000 UTC]

Thanks^^

I thought all the extra detail would take a lot longer... it only added half a day XD

Indeed ^^

For someone used to drawing lines, learning to use the vectoring tool is so unnerving,But I would encourage anyone after fast easy tidy line art to learn to like it.Though you use sai right? I'm not sure it has the same tool.

KusaFai In reply to ScereyahaDreamweaver [2011-07-07 21:04:12 +0000 UTC]

Of course no need for thanks~

Oh well thats good! It's nice when you go faster then expected and still do well.

Vector lines do come very useful. And yes I use and sai is mainly for using the vector line tool which is very useful and you can change it whenever you feel like it. Though now I would much rather use the pen tool for outlining but I only have a mousepad and the lines are pressurized.

If you want i could send a sai copy since it is portable.
