Canon/OC doesn't necessarily equal Mary Sue.
If you'd like to take a look at Sydney's profile(s) and give a decent critique, I'd be glad to hear it.
However, you certainly have no place to be calling me a hypocrite when I've yet to say/do anything hypocritical. You'll notice how in the comment you're getting upset about, I didn't mention anything about your character being with Bakura. I think that OC/Canon can definitely work if done right.
What I said was that the character design was Mary Sueish, and it is. Don't be butthurt just because I chose to critique your character's design.

What about a design makes a characte Mary Sue?
If you want to categorize characters as sues based on their appearance, look at yours. The short hared tomboy type. That isn't overdone?
Secondly Xyluc designed the outfit and she did a damn good job. It's creative and wonderful.

I'm talking mainly about the hair of this particular character.
It's not really atypical to have multicolored hairstyles in this particular anime, however for FC's it's a bit risky.
That, and I'm not too keen on the outfit's lack of benefits given the nature of the story, but... then again, there are characters like Mai walking around, so I guess that's not really much of a critique.
And you're right, Sydney's general appearance is a little "over-done," (if you think that general human appearances are over-done, that is) but I'm not too concerned with her design -- it's her story that matters to me.
