If there's one thing in this fandom I truly love, it's the Cardverse AU. I love fantasy fiction (I've got a bookshelf full to prove it) and that's what I like so much about this AU. Granted there are other fantasy fanfics involving the Hetalia cast that aren't set in the Cardverse, and I'm not saying those aren't good either, but there's just something about this particular AU verse that I can't explain other than I like the symbolism and imagery found with using the four suits.

Which leads to this pics explanation. The Wild Card is a Cardverse fanfic by DecemberCamie that I have wholeheartedly fallen in love with. The characterizations are spot on for the guys, the setting is described with just enough detail for you to envision it without overdoing it on the adjectives, and, for me at least, it doesn't fall into the common theme of Alfred and Arthur falling in love because of Arthur being called "Queen" and Alfred becoming (or already is) the "King". There are some good stories out there with that theme (I mean, look at the fandom I'm talking about here...) but it gets tedious reading the same thing all the time, so this one was like a breath of fresh air to me.

Anyway, the pic itself isn't of a particular scene but Alfred is supposed to be dressed in mostly white clothes as he is in a couple of chapters when he attends a gathering in the infamous No-Man's-Land (I can't for the life of me say the name of the city much less spell it so forgive me for not doing so here ). There no one wears the colors of their suit in order to promote fellowship with others rather than division. I couldn't make them all white though...call it artistic license for lack of a better phrase but I felt shades of whites, grays, and neutrals would work out as well (or maybe I'm just afraid of white on white...who knows, lol). Now the background...*sigh* I'm not that satisfied with it, I'll be honest. I initially couldn't find a good pose for him and the rest I just figured out as I went along. But I wanted to do some kind of background with a setting rather than a random graphic backdrop and I am proud of myself for at least doing it.

Well, that's enough of me rambling or this will definitely end up waaayyy too long, lol. I encourage everyone to read DecemberCamie's story (as well as her other pieces) and I hope you like my pic as well, my friend It's the best way I know how to thank you for sharing it with us here!
