So there's one of my OCs Gedeon with 3 of his (Kai, Rein and Soren). Because all of the characters in the first part of my story is already determined (and mostly for part 3 as well), I could only move them into part 2 and maybe part 3. I guess this is where it gets tricky because it's rather far into the story (so I may or may not use this scene) and I only own Gedeon (so if I do use this scene, I will probably change the characters into one of mine).

Anyways, a bit of background. The spell that is referred in here is called "the dark side of the moon" which basically shifts the sun to be constantly behind the moon. So the dark side of the moon is facing the world. The sun is an eclipse (however if clouds block out the little light it becomes total darkness) but that serves Gedeon's (who is the Master of Shadows) purposes well. Hint: It pretty much makes him invincible in a way.

"Don't you think..." with his fist in the air, Gedeon smiles, "a little too late?"

Rein bites his tongue. There is little that could be done now that the spell is complete. However, he has the feeling that Kai is overestimating the gauge for his own power.

"Just you..." Kai begins. Under the fading moonlight he begins to pull out his katana.

If Kai could see the reflection of the light on his katana, so could Gedeon. "Oh my," his mouth turns into a silly grin, "getting a bit restless aren't you?"

"Kai," Soren starts...

"But... I can't say," suddenly the winds begins to pick up around Gedeon, "I won't enjoy a little fun!" He opens his fist, and the shadows begin to howl in response. Above, the clouds swirl closing in tighter and tighter around the moon. It is almost as if the moon was being swallowed by the sky. On the ground Kai, Rein and Soren begin to feel their shadows being pulled from under their feet. "You know," Gedeon's eyes start to glow in the absence of light, "it feels really good to finally use my power to its full extent."

"A little fun?" Soren grimaces, "I wonder what you do when you aren't having fun."

"Well, I do have to admit the work rebuilding a new world can be boring at times," like the clouds surrounding the moon, the shadows begin to gather around Gedeon's arm, "and it's not very often I meet proficient fighters."

"I'll take that as a compliment," using one hand to pull Rein back, Soren readies the other for attack. To Rein and Kai he mutters, "Remember what I said. Give him the first attack."

"I remember, don't we, Kai?" Rein's left foot moves mountains of dirt and dust as he looks at Kai.

Kai grumbles.

"Then I shall gladly take that first attack," testing the strength of his newly sword made of the shadows of destruction, he points it at the trio, "Just remember, there is nothing that a battle forbids."

The plan was to allow Gedeon to attack all three in one spot (to draw him into the middle) and latter discover that Soren, Kai and Rein attacking him in different directions. This would work if Gedeon was only melee. Perhaps their biggest mistake was assuming Gedeon to be only competent with the sword.

Like they had planned, Gedeon attacks in the center and before he is able to make contact with anyone, the trio splits and begins to circle him. "You know..." annoyed Gedeon raises his sword and swings it in a whole circle, "I am mostly range."

Kai holds his trembling left arm in his right hand. He could feel a warm sticky liquid flowing down his arm. He was the closest when Gedeon's sword seemed to morph into thousands of arrows. Between the blurry vision, he sees that Gedeon's sword has returned to it's normal state.

"Kai!" Rein moves in front of his younger brother, "Are you...?" He had manged to block most of the arrows with his scythe.

"I've been through worse," Kai spits as he switches the katana to his other hand.

"It's only the start," narrowing his eyes, Rein could see Soren sneaking up behind Gedeon.

"Close, but not close enough," Gedeon pulls on Soren's hair behind his back.

Soren swings around to punch Gedeon again, but he disappears into the shadows.

"Closer still, but not fast enough," now Gedeon is sitting on-top of a protruding stone. By now the moon has almost disappeared and he could feel power swelling and whelming inside him. Soon he would be invincible.

Gripping his scythe so tight you can hear the knuckles groaning, Rein clenches his teeth, "We have to finish him off now or never."

Once again, the trio began circling Gedeon. No, it is more like stumbling around Gedeon. Occasionally glancing up from examining the tip of his sword, Gedeon sends jolts of shadows towards his foes without lifting a finger. "Please don't tell me..." he yawns, "that this all that you have?"

Gedeon is trying to kill time. Kai, Rein and Soren is desperate to buy time. Oh, only if time could be bought. The moon continues to disappear bit by bit. The only way to reverse the spell is to kill Gedeon. That of course is proving to be of some difficultly.

A soundless scream escapes from Rein's mouth as he leaps towards Gedeon. Preparing for an assault to a vital part of his body, imagine the surprise when Gedeon discovers Rein's intention was not him, but the stone he was sitting upon. Even Gedeon has to abide to the laws of gravity and with wide eyes he tumbles to the ground. "Now!" Soren screams in a hoarse voice as he grabs Gedeon's arm. Moving in right behind Rein, Kai raises his katana...

Panting...

Their shaky breaths echo throughout the night, the once familiar moon gone.

Gedeon is gone too.

What had happened? "I'm sure..." Soren begins...

"My blade hit something," Kai finally starts feeling the sharp ebb of pain running down his left arm.

"Hope so..." Rein closes his eyes.

"When this is over..." Soren grins sleepily, "I'm sure the girls will be running to me in gratitude!"

"You and your girls," Kai mutters.

While they are talking, they don't notice that the air around them is getting colder. Nor do they notice that the moon is NOT returning.

"A smoke would be nice," every nerve in Soren's body is unaware of the close unfamiliar presence to him.

"Not bad," Gedeon finally speaks, "but you forgot that I can morph my shadows into anything and anyone." Softly at first, his chuckles turn into howls of laughter, "It was fun playing with you... but I have to get back to work now." The trio can hear Gedeon's footsteps but cannot see him.

"Where are you?" Soren curses.

"You don't need to know that," after a moment Gedeon adds, "And for your entertainment for me tonight, I'll allow you three to live for now."

"Just you wait!" Rein's scythe searches for its target within the relentless darkness, "Just you wait... you..."

All Gedeon says is, "Good night and sweet dreams."

I couldn't really let Gedeon die because it would be troublesome for him to die before I plan to kill him... >_>

So I left is as a draw...

In part 1 (The Prince of Time), Adrianna gets teleported to another place and time. There we discover the world in peril from the threat of a reincarnation of "Shadow"
In part 2 (Where Hope Went), we travel back in time where the spell has been used for the first time by "Shadow"
In part 3 (The Dark Side of the Moon) we return to the present where the spell has already been cast and the final battle occurs
