Woah. My first finished digital colored art! I know nothing about digital coloring so I'm very sorry if this is too amatuer-ish! Can anybody teach me on how to beautifully color digitally? heheAnyway, the lineart is NOT mine.. it's been stuck on my hard drive for a long time that i forgot where i got it! Applause for the artist tho!

Open a new layer and use the multiply setting to colour on top, it works a lot better. If you open a new layer and use the multiply setting you can colour with a shade of gray for doing shadows and shading and stuff~~~ It saves a ton of time! It's very helpful for me~~ If you need anymore help just ask ^^

I think you should take the lineart to another new layers and turn the layer mode to multiply.
Then color it at the back of the lineart layer.
If this doesn't work... try dA tutorials. Although it's in photoshop, I think the function is the same.

If it's a scanned lineart, and is using Photoshop:
- Duplicate it as layer. Its default is on "background" mode, so from the Layers box, right-click onto the background layer and click "Duplicate layer".
- After doing it, click on the duplicated layer and set it as "multiply" which can be set at the drop-down menu of the Layers box.
- Create a layer under the duplicated layer. This is where you can do your coloring.
For the colors:
- Try making a color palette first: colors that jive with each other from the shades of your choice. As much as possible, do not pick colors at random. The choice of colors for this artwork is good, however you still need to add...
- ...Value. Shadows, and other details for the hair, creases of the dress, etc.
