This is cute and funny. Β Every time I see Vya I just want to hug him. Β He's so precious! Β As for Simon, (in sing-song voice) somebody's jealous, somebody's jealous~.

No Vya! Don't fall for it! Simon might end up in jail for assault if you do!Β

the watercolor is flawless. Β i honestly thought it was digitally watercolored because it was so well done .3.
will this eventually lead to a great battle between the Simons? Β the final showdown? Β a cage fight?
i love your little comics they always make my day

brilliant...you got the colors to be quite vibrant...which for me scanning in can some times take away the sharpness in color, which irritates me. So how did you like using watercolor for your comic?
I always love letting the water work for me, but there are times i find it hard to get the right effect ...but the more i work with it the more i figure out how to get what i want.
I think you did super awesome because before i had a good look at this i thought you had done it all the way you normally do ;D...so you certainly got your colors and line art just right ^_^

Thank you very much Yeah I have that problem too with scanning, but I've found what helps is tweaking the color just a bit in photoshop. I go to "Color Variations" and then mess around with the darkness, and highlights, and shadow levels a bit, then I bump up the saturation just a notch. It usually comes out looking quite nice, but sometimes I have to try again. It helps to have the original right on hand so you can compare. But the colors did get a little off from my original, like Vya's coat was not quite so vibrant, and Simon's shirt wasn't so much of a cherry-red. But as long as it still looks good, I don't care if it looks like the original, haha (I'm not sure if that made sense)
Watercoloring for a comic was both harder and easier than I expected. I expected it to be really hard to keep the colors consistent, but it wasn't so much. It was all the small details that bogged me down, like Other Simon's belt buckle, and Simon's two toned shoes, just all the little spaces that only take a couple seconds to paint, but still take just as much work to mix the color for. And I'm still not totally sure if I like the effect, but it's something I'd like to try again, maybe this time with a background.
Oh yes, letting the water work for you is the nicest thing about watercolors (also the most frustrating, it's sort of a double edged sword cuz sometimes it doesn't do what you want it to) But it can lead to lots of happy accidents.
And really? I thought it was so obvious that it was watercolor, but I guess that's just because I've been staring at it for weeks XD But I'm glad to hear I got the colors right (and I was scared doing the lineart because I did it right on top of the painting and I was like "gaah I hope I don't mess up!!")

yeah i usually fix the vibrancy and the saturation, and some times i go to brightness too, depending...today i was using a masking layer with it all so i could just adjust particular parts an not the entire thing...that really made a difference.
backgrounds are a different challenge, but they can come out really good if you plan a head...even if you don't plan ahead they can still look good. ^_^ i have learned to have some kind of reference idea for the background so i don't go into it blind...also depending on the look you want, wetting the background a little first before applying color can make a nice wash.
i like to watercolor to do my coloring work because it feels like i have more control than digital...i'm silly that way.
omg yes i hate when it doesn't do what i want...it can be irritating, but the more i practice the more i figure what the paper an water can do and so i can sort of manipulate it...but still you never know when the water an paint will just...not do it, but it does make for interesting work that way.
it is always more obvious to you when your doing it then the viewer. ...line art is so freaking scary...white tube watercolor paint has become my best friend ot fix my outline mistakes. -i finally have found a good ink that is waterproof....if i dont' use dipping ink then i use le pen because-it applies smoothly.

Awwww, thank youuu! *huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuug* And I don't mind rambling, I like conversations
Oh gosh, I was only thinking panel to panel, I can't imagine how difficult it must be to keep it consistent from comic to comic! That's a great idea though, to make notes, that never really occurred to me! (imma dumb shit)
Awww *pats your cheeks* Well you deserve the praise, I love your watercolors!
I don't think they were really more creative, I think they were just better because they had no other options.
Yeah, I still need to computer too to put everything where I want it to be and do little fixes. On the one hand, it feels a bit like a cheat because I should really be trying not to have mistakes. On the other hand, if I'm constantly worrying about mistakes, then I can't be loose enough to think about painting.Β So I guess you just have to find a happy medium

your super welcome an i'm glad you like the conversation...
i'm glad you think i deserve the praise..i feel so happy
i agree best thing to do is find a happy medium because mistakes happen, we are just lucky to have the computer
so we can try to correct them easier. it is better artistically to no have to worry an just go with the idea n the flow.
and if you have to you can always re-draw the thing...i know i hate redrawing stuff but i've gotten to where the more i do that, the less terrible it feels to do it ^_^
