"He's a stiff! Bereft of life! He has passed on. He is no more. He's expired and gone to meet his maker! If you hadn't nailed him to the perch, he'd be pushing up daisies! THIS! Is an EX-PARROT!" (What can I say, I was watching Monty Python while I was drawing these)I wanted to try to bring America and England more into my style since I'm drawing a full length comic (hopefully to sell, but we'll see) with them. I showed the first rough draft to and she correctly pointed out that they looked too alike, and it was difficult to tell who was talking. (she also seemed to think I used too many chibis, but I'll deal with one thing at a time)
To help with this, I used references from cosplayers instead of Himaruya's drawings, and focused on one or two physical and personality traits. I hope I succeeded. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them! (if I knew what I was doing, I would have done it right the first time XD)

As for drawing the characters, I love your young, snub-nosed America. He's so cute. And props for adapting the Hetalia characters to your own style. It really does only take a few characteristics for them to be identifiable. (America: cowlick, glasses if he is older; England: thick eyebrows)

Thanks, I really love playing with nose shape. ^_^ I tried to emphasize young America's vulnerability and innocence. Plus I have a rule for him now that his mouth can't open too wide. Kind of makes expressions hard, because I always seem to go towards over-the-top. XD And thanks, I'm glad I'm not making people mad because I'm going off-model. I'm taking a bit of a break from working and giving other Hetalia characters this treatment. Haha, Italy has freckles now. I think it makes him look cute.
