Now, I won't assume that there are people who haven't finished the game already at least once BUT - -

- THOSE WHO HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED SOLAS' ROMANCE, READ FURTHER NO MORE. TINY SPOILER OF THE LAST SCENE (before battle) EXISTS.

Later, it's all personal interpretation, but still, it's close to it so - - I don't know.. Also, WALL OF TEXT FOLLOWS YE BE WARNED!!

Let's say our story here as well. Pretty much the canon stuff, as we all experience it in the game, but not entirely all 'lovey-dovey'. My elf went for the "aggressive" option when Solas decided that "he must walk alone".

The image here shows my interpretation of the moment, but not entirely of course (there is more): giving a little "Judas kiss" (yes, because walking away with no apparent reason, especially after all the shit [about love and feelings and and and-] a certain someone's said, feels like 'treachery' to a just-now-heartbroken soul) instead of the part where he removes the tattoos (or not - because Neria doesn't have) from our face, he makes this his final "grasp of life". In my head-canon, he doesn't actually say something. The moment he kisses Neria, she realizes that whatever they had it's over. I tried to portray that on her face; it's both an expression of "what's happening" and of "I know what's happening", you know - - that something in the middle! <.< As shown, (h.c. again) he gives her his amulet (only later I realized that I made it too small but whatever . . ). Later (though not shown here), I have Neria pushing herself slightly away from him and looking at him with contained anger, saying "You're leaving, aren't you.. It's - - we're over..". Solas drawls "I'm sorry - -" but before the end of his words, she shoves him, and pretty much acts as in the game, saying what is and even something more (liar and trickster are some of the few cosmetic adjectives she flowered him with). Solas doesn't react - - of course. Neria drops down his amulet and takes her leave. Solas kneels to pick it up and stays there alone for - - some time I guess!

◘Sorrowful faces, looking behind the shadows..◘ that goes for Solas in my head. I imagine him watching the life of the Inquisitor from the fade or wherever, from an eluvian or a crystal ball for what I know! To be honest, I have a lot of miserable ideas - if you want to brainstorm miseries, I am your person! XD

◘Dreams faded, betrayed by the thieves of yesterday..◘ that could work both ways, I guess, it's a matter of interpretation really. In my/this case though, it goes for my elf. Pretty much self-explanatory, no?

All the rest, goes mostly (if not entirely) for Solas in my head

◘Those who walk never look back anymore..◘ those who continue their lives, don't look back anymore. It can also mean many other things though:
• that those who CAN walk, they won't look back, they don't need to look back
• that those who walk/who chose to walk a certain path, they don't look back

The next verses are also self-explanatory for Solas.

◘Don't speak to me.. If only you knew what you ask of me.. If only you knew who I am, what I'm trying to tell you..
When you love, every pulse of the heart becomes that voice that struggles to be heard..

I want to touch you so I can live another moment..
Time steals time and the end seeks the beginning..
"Just a little longer.." becomes just a little bit longer..
