It's the first time (or at least I can't remember any other
) that I couldn't add an after-effect! 
This is the base rendering, lights and all, (lux render) and then I just "experimented" as always with the magic effects (photoshop ). I didn't even change contrast or brightness or anything, really!
Feels really weird to me, I admit! 
I could make the ravens a bit more "real" - but that's the "easy" part for me and I didn't really bother at that point. 
I'll probably go back at this but I don't know when!
I just - - something feels odd, and yet I can't pinpoint it! Or maybe I am just that tired that I think that sth is off?!?!

As for your concern, near as I can tell it could be due to the perspective. The crow on the left (over her right shoulder) looks like it should be behind her, while the other one (the larger one), looks like it should be closer to the viewer (therefore in front of her). However, one of the wings is clearly behind her, which throws off the perspective. The depth seems wrong as a consequence. On top of that, both are blurry, so it makes it seem like both should be at the same depth of field. However, one is clearly larger, and therefore should probably have more/less blur according to whether it's closer/farther from the focal point (which is on the woman).
Sorry if that makes no sense. Just trying to give voice to your concern. In all fairness, it's a nitpick I'd barely have noticed had you not called it out. As always, a pleasure viewing your work!

No, it actually makes a lot of sense, and I remember having issues with it myself back then. Thanks for reminding me! Couldn't remember if that was my problem though!
I think that's a reality problem (I don't know if you are familiar with either daz or lux and therefore with the reality plug-in) - the new version of it, that is - that I can't yet figure out. It messes up the dof system completely (the entire camera settings to be honest)!! At least, I experience problems with it - maybe the problem it's from my end! Anyway, after years of dealing with 3D, one could say I do know my fair share of such things - perspectives, dofs etc - so that was a first! But I do remember now that I didn't want to go back (and at least rescale the ravens, if only to "fix" the perspective) and render it all over again. Yeap...

Lol no problem. I first got a sense for DOF after I completed a crossover project, and realized the main characters looked like giants, due to perspective. Blargh, haha!
Still learning DAZ and 3DS Max, but they are a lot less intuitive than XPS was. Still, I'll never learn if I don't get started! It's just that I found some awesome tutorials for XPS, and am trying to find some for the others. think I must be running a different version of the software, because my settings barely match up! At any rate, you do amazing work. If something like this is what you consider a mess-up, then you should consider yourself very talented indeed!
At any rate, I am going on vacation tomorrow, so I will be getting as much Fallout 4 in my system until then, lol! I hope all is well, and look forward to seeing your future work!
