Full view please.This is the result.... of working for about 3 days. I spent a good... 15 hours, possibly more working on this. I redid the skin, modified the colors, tried different techniques of coloring the checker pattern, redid the face a few times, and now... I believe I am done.
It was actually just suppose to be practice so I could learn to color better, but I added on to it more, and I think it turned out relatively good. The original idea changed quite a bit from start to finish. Originally she was suppose to be just a character in checkered clothing, perhaps holding a sword, and at the end she ended up Mad Hatter-like.

The imagination in the composition is really nice! That pose of her is very dynamic, and that outfit of her is priceless!

It was 3 days well spent man. . .this is one of my favourite ones I've seen of yours. I love the outfit and the pose, and I really like how you added depth to the patterned parts with shading and how that contrasts with the skintones. The colouring's really sharp in addition to being very painterly.

I tried out some really saturated skin colors and I'm starting to like using saturated colors a lot more. When I first started I only used more dull colors but you can't get a real 3D effect that way. Glad you like it.... spent a lot of time and was hoping it'd turn out well.

I think it worked on the older pics--the sort of rough painted style worked will with your design sense and give it an almost classic feel to it.
