u used to prefer 3d renders, but after a illustrations course took i've changed my mind too! sketches can be more artistic and dramatic. You are allowed to do things "wrong" (proportions, perspective etc.) to achieve the emotions you want to transmit...

If this is 'just' a sketch, what is the full work you do?

it is a sketch because it is not detailed enough and it is not photorealistic... when you use photoshop instead of markers/pastels, you can get amazing results, but it takes much more time...
a full work would be the obvio 828 render in my gallery (the green small car)
